I am married to a woman who has never had a good relationship before me. She's attractive, smart(in college to be a nurse practitioner), and has a great personallity. Problem is that no matter what I do, she never feels good about herself. I can tell her she's beautiful and all she says is "whatever you're just being sweet." She's far from overweight, 145lbs and 5ft 5. Yet all I hear about is how fat she is. It's like no matter what I say, I can't get her past the ******* that told her crap just to bring her down. All her other bfs were all physically and emotionally abusive.
Anyway ladies, is there anyway to get her past all of their bs? Or is this something I'll be fighting the rest of my life?

I'm in my 20's and have the most overprotective, old fashioned parents...sometimes it's a good thing and sometimes...it's kinda hard...

For me to get where i am today with their trust and for them not to get paranoid...is HUGE...i'm the oldest so they STILL have the hardest time letting go (even with the littlest things 16 yr olds can do grrr) I'm a simple girl and i usually don't go along w. the crowd...i've got values and i'm a smart cookie :) Being the oldest, i've kinda had to grow up and be mature compared to others my own age but of course, they'll see something else, as "innocent".

I was planning on having some on my bday until my cousin brought it up (getting me drunk) and of course, the FREAKED...the whole "drinking" thing didn't even come up w. them 'til now and they're back to freaking out again..

A lot of people were commenting that it would be rude to have a ceremony without a reception or something along those lines. But isn't the important part the ceremony? Isn't that the part we are supposed to celebrate with the couple? I thought the reception was more like a thank you to the guests for coming but not really necessary.

Thoughts and comments?

I've been with my husband for 7 years now and our sex life is great! but when we first started to have sex, just thought of going home and having sex would get me wet. Now that doesn't happen anymore. I'm still very attracted and turned on by him and as soon and he puts it in i get wet, so i don't have a problem with lubrication. But i always feel guitly when he's talking sexy on the phone and then ask me if i'm wet and i say yes even though im really turned on. So my question is why can't i get wet before we have sex anymore?

Even when you are so obviously 100% right, and your partner is 100% WRONG!
How do you detach yourself from the disagreement, without kowtowing to them, and save face?
I shouldn't ALWAYS have to be the one to concede, though.

I'm having an outdoor wedding with about 100 guests and there really isn't a way to set up mics and speakers. I was wondering how important it is that the vows be heard by all the guests? I've been to a handful of weddings and I don't really remember hearing them.

My husband and I are currently in a long distant marriage although he plans on moving to where I am in a few months. He is not a bad guy, in fact there is more things that he does that is nice than bad. He is not perfect and neither am I. Here it the problem. I need advice on how to dea with his being so stubborn. Example, most times when him and I get into some type of disagreement he ends up hanging up on me, then refuses to take my calls. This hurts me as it feels as if I am being discarded and avoided. It has been 7 days now and he has not called me and I refuse to call him as I am getting tired of giving into his stubborness. Serious answeres please as I want advice on how to deal with this problem. I can add that one other time when this has happened I did not give in and call him and he eventually broke down and called me. Is this the right thing to do. I do not want to risk calling him on the chance that he will not answer or even return my call. Please advice.

Should a husband allow his wife to have her intimate needs met outside of marriage if he is unable to do so due to heavy travelling demands on him stretching to several months in remote locations of underdeveloped countries on research projects.

What is your view ?

You know I've always wondered about this as a lot of people I know say it would be impossible to live on their own. I can't understand that at all I'd rather be single than be in a relationship where you are not happy only to save you from being alone.

Thank you for your answers

to make a long story short, she got me mad, and i told her stuff basically that she is slut. Then she got really upset and she cried, and now i am soo sad and depressed, i feel very bad and like total POS. i apologized my butt off and i told her the truth that i really didnt anything and i just was mad. She told me its ok, nothing to worry about, thats not what she really means. what should i do?

I swear it was a mistake. i never take my anger to anyone, and this one time i got mad, and I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE. i swear to god in this world it was an honest mistake.

Please see my previous question from ~30 min ago if you need to....

I am not insecure with how my husband feels about me. My issue is basically that other women rave about my husband and men don't (as much) about me. Maybe this is no big deal.

If my husband was going to leave me for someone younger prettier etc he would have done it long ago, as he has had plenty of women who fit that bill. I have no worries that he belongs to anyone other than me. Seeing him with another woman don't bother me at all, as him seeing me with another man doesn't bother him.

Anyway - I understand the hostility many of you feel. I used to feel the same way. Oh and by the way I tend to be the driver with this lifestyle - my husband is just enjoying the ride. We've put it on hold before and he's never complained.

Maybe this helps? Or maybe you'll just repeat the same answers back at me. Maybe I just need to not worry about my performance and just go back to having a great time??

Yes, the price is high, and the shoes are $70. I know the bride wants the best, but I am not working right now, and would not let the bride know about that. Plus there is the gift of at least a $100 for the bridal shower and then the gift of another $100 for the wedding. This is at least $650 that I don't have or have in savings at all. Credit card is the only way to go.

Any other bridesmaids financially strapped?

Ok..next month is my 4 year anniversary with my husband and I have planned a picnic in our living room for us. I was thinking his buddies could go out with him the 1st part of the day and when the sun is setting they drop him off. When he opens the apartment door he hears our songs playing with led lights lighting the hall way and the pinic on the living room floor. With all of dinner being heart shaped and his favorite bottle of wine. Silk rose petals are also lining the floor to the picnic. While apple pie is in the oven. Opinions please what would guys do if they were to walk into an apartment like that? I am debating rather or not to do this. So everything is still in the air!
