hELLO. im 18 years old turning 19 and im a guy. My dad is going crazy. I think i should move out. here is what happend. He doesn't like smoking but i smoke and and its so hard to stop but i'am trying but u know..u can't quit just like that..at least for me.. He caught me smoking a few times but yesrterday was the worst. He threatened to kill me if i smoke again literally. He said He will cut my head off..and yesterday he got so mad that he started hitting me and for the first time blood came.. I know this sounds silly but this is a big deal for me.. And he's cursing in front of my mom and all and saying i will kill you . I just can't take it anymore. I want to quit smoking but I can't just quit like that. In my opinion, i think he is making a very big deal out of it..and i can't live like this .. I don't know i'am planning to move out by myself..do you think i should ..anyway help me..thankx (but then again-i don't want to leave my mom eathier) but what do you think.

Are looks and the way girls dress that important to guys? Do guys care more about looks or personality?

I am getting married in less than 2 months (and can't wait). My fiance is typically very NON tradiitional. I am considering hyphenating my last name and he is having a very difficult time with it. He says he feels like I won't "completely" be his wife if I dont take only his name. It's not like I'm not going to take it at all, I am just considering adding it to my own. I feel that it's not wrong, but he is making such a fuss and making me feel so bad about it that I'm not sure. Any opinions???

I have friends that were married young and now it seems like they have just accepted their faith... I don´t see them happy or in love nor demonstrate any enthusiasm about going home at the end of the day. Isn´t it a big waste of LIFE? I am saying this because I´m Brazilian and here things are sort of different... People get married when they´re older (around 30) but they seem a lot happier, they don´t just settle down... I know I can´t generalize, I´m sure there´s lots of happy people out there...

a sunday brunch for out-of-towners the day after the wedding instead of inviting them all to the rehearsal. My future father-in-law is cooking for the rehearsal dinner and I dont want him to have to cook for 50 people (as most of our guests are from out of town). I would rather keep the rehearsal to just the bridal party and immediate family.

I have liked this guy for a long time (about a year now) and he likes me too. But he's had this girlfriend for two years. He's always flirting with me, smaking my butt, running up to me and grabbing my sides, and just saying remarks. Well him and his girlfriend broke up and he asked for my number, so I gave it to him. Well we were calling each other talking to each other. But now he and the girlfriend are back together, but he's still calling and I can't help but wanna talk. He's always told her he'd get rid of her for me and he even flirts with me when the girlfriend is right there. Was it wrong of me to keep answering , and what should I do?

Examples:

- cologne
- aftershave
- freshly-washed clothes
- nothing (you like guys who smell "natural")
- baby powder
- sweat (from playing sports or working etc.)
- cigarette smoke (just kidding)
- something else.

ok be aware i know not ALL guys do this....but I am curious why is it that when I am split from a boyfriend and simply looking for a conversation and maybe a night to hang out to get over my ex that guys feel the need to try to sleep with me...it's not like the first thing i want after any break up sex....and I make it very very very clear that I am merely looking to talk and hang out strictly platonic yet i get the lines like "fu*k me i'll help you get over him" or "well what if us hanging turns into sex" it may i don't deny that I would just rather not feel pushed into dropping my pants and grabbing my ankles right after a break up...please explain this to me....because I am chalking it up to a) either men being pigs....or b) those men being sleazy

Because of health problems I was born with I'm never going to be a super strong athletic guy, lucky for me (financially at least) I'm smart. I'm also very funny (just ask me). Can smart & funny overcome poor looks?

let's just say theres a girl who doesn't like to go outdoors much because either it can't communicate with people, or justs likes to be alone. can you have or handle a girlfriend like that( well, she likes to go places like amusement park, restaurants, going camping, just doesn't like to be outside with a lot of people she knows) this is actually what I am, so can you handle it?

Maybe it's stupid to be stessing about this stuff. But I can't help it. I'm 20 years old, I've never dated. It's not for lack of trying, it's just others don't find me attractive, I always hear "Your a nice girl but..." I'm always told I have a pretty face but the rest of me is ugly. Yeah so i'm a little fat, i'm quitting smoking and i'm starting to play tennis again and i'm TRYTING to lose weight but it's soo hard for me.
I used to pride myself on being an independant, strong woman. I'm watching all my friends with there boyfriends and babies and happiness and wonder why at the age of 20 i havent even dated? I want to belive that a person can accept you for who you are but i've never seen it. I hate being fat! I'm trying to change it. Do I sound crazy or can i trade myself in for a newer model?

Originally I was going to, because I was keeping the honeymoon a secret for the reception. Now that my fiance knows about it, should I still do a toast at our reception? If so, what kind of advice for the format?

My husband and I have ben married for 5 years. We both love each other very much. However, sometimes I feel lonely. Not in my life necessarily, more so in the marriage. He goes through these temporary phases. If you follow Dr. John Gray (author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus), he calls it the "Rubberband Man" or the "Male Intimacy Cycle". It is usually a brief period where our partner may pull away for a short time, then come back. It is never out of anger or frustration in the marriage - it is more for him to be able to "regroup" which allows him to be a better provider and partner. It's a time for him to focus on his needs. I have these times sometimes, too. I call it "me time". Usually, I go for a pedicure or massage, or have lunch with the girls. It may last a day or two. However, his last maybe a week or two. And they seem to be more frequent. Maybe every 4-6 weeks? Everything besides this is going great. He is attentive, caring, compassionate....

My friend and her fiancee have decided that there shall be no naked men nor women at their parties. I have to keep the bride pure and faithful in every way that she has been before the wedding. This bride is not a big partier or drinker.

Whats left to do?

The bride is already getting her bridesmaids a day at the spa as a wedding gift.. So We cant lug her off to a spa.. Any suggestions?

Also, this is a very small bridal party. Perhaps 5 people. maybe a couple more.

So what is there for a very small bridal party to do that is tame but fun?

well, my crush and i have been talking recently and he came though we both have nicknames/petnames for each other already, he calls me "sunshine" sometimes. i think it's a term of an endearment and it has nothing to do with my actual name such as all the other names we call each other. what term of endearment should i use for him that can convey the same level of endearment as "sunshine"? also, any tips on how to get closer to him and not mess things up for the two of us? thanks :-)
