Are looks and the way girls dress that important to guys? Do guys care more about looks or personality?

yes, to a point.
We want a woman who looks good, at least who cares enough to look as good as she can.
But we are quickly bored, so you better have a decent personality also. If the personality is good enough, we don't care as much about the looks.

There's probably the same percentage of guys that are shallow in relation to the percentage of females who are likewise shallow. Is that a scientific conclusion? No, but it's based on a general assumption that there's someone for everyone, so a vain shallow woman will need a vain shallow man to treat her like a trophy... (yes, that is attempted sarcasm). There is likewise a segment of both genders that are more intrigued by personalities as initial attractants....that much is no surprise. What may surprise you though is, at any one time we have the capacity to be either of those types of people depending on where we are developmentally and on what we're going through at the time. That in part is what keeps life interesting.

Yes, most guys are shallow... I think just about every guy cares about looks and the way girls dress. There are some good guys out there, though, he actually care more about personality than looks, but they represent a small population.

not as much as women,cuz women want too much in a guy,if you don't have abs you have to have something else,everyone is a little shallow in there own way.

yep, they're shallow. Find a fat girl with buck teeth, zits and glasses and ask her how many dates she's had in the last month.
