You go to her and you explain: I really feel
kind of awkward here...and I truly don't want to do or say anything, ever, to jeopardize
our friendship in any way. But I'm just curious...I'm beginning to like you for more
than just a friend, and I'm wondering if you
feel the same way about me? If not, I would
like for us to still maintain our friendship with no hard feelings.

Do not make it sound like a date. It will give you a chance to feel her out to see if you should go further or keep it at a friendship level.
EX: A new movie just came out that I really want to see. I do not feel like going alone.Would you like to go.
Or tell her you want to go to the amusement park or something because you had no plans for the weekend. ask her if she would like to go.

If there is a good movie playing that you think she might like ask her if she would like to see it with you. Or you can think of something fun the two of you could do like go to an amusement park.
