Well, it all depends, do stupid girls date stupid guys? Who wants a stupid guy? I would rather a smart guy any day.

R.G., you've asked a question that cannot be answered with a yes or no. Some girls are attracted to the athletic type while other girls are attracted to the smart and funny type. I would focus on your intelligence/education and not worry to much about those girls who like jocks. Remember there are a lot of sweet girls out there looking for an intelligent man.

I know this sounds shallow, but you probably want the truth. Looks will always be the first thing to notice in a person. I myself dont like athletic guys, because I'm not athletic. I dont mind smart guys, but I dont mind stupid ones either. I mostly go for funny, really mature, and stylish guys. Looks only semi-matter for me.

Well I would assume girls would go for smart athletes buuuut I dont know, I like to think theres somone out there for everyone but I'm honestly losing hope, my only problem is it seems like every person male or female i meet dose drugs, drinks, smokes or is a whore, and sometimes a combination of them. But you on the other hand, yes girls like smart and funny guys, its gonna be hard at first because a lot of girls will put you in the friend section, (i speak from exsperence) the friend section is not a good place to be, not when your looking for a girl friend anyway, but just study people, find a girl you like, and act confident because girls love that, then be funny girls also love someone that makes them laugh and be smart but try not to make her feel stupid or dissagree with her even when shes wrong just kinda nod your head and keep talking, because girls dont want to know when there wrong even when they are which is the hardest part for me, i like letting people know when there wrong because i like people to let me know when im wrong so i can correct my self but that rarely happens...... and NEVER! EVER EVER! make them think your sexist because you will be gone then lol im not sexist but my ex thought i was because i said some stuff one day joking and she took it the wrong way and fussed at me for like 30 minutes lol but yea man dont worry keep your head up theres plenty of girls out there taht will date you

I've never ever been attracted to an athletic guy. A huge turn off for me actually. {well, unless he's a skateboarder...which i guess counts as athletic. lol} But, being smart and funny counts for a lot. I bet you don't have "poor looks" either. You're probably really cute. :-)

Definitely. My husband is moderately athletic, but what I fell in love with was his mind. It would be incredibly boring to be married to a good-looking person who was dumb as a post. What the heck would you talk about? Looks and fitness fade with age, but a good personality lasts much longer.
Besides, you may be lucky enough to weed out the shallow girls and only snag the ones who like you for you. That can save lots of time and heartache.

Girls like smart guys! You don't need to be athletic, a sense of humor is usually one of the most important things we look for! Smart is cool! Just don't try to teach her something all the time!

Personailty tops everything!!!!! Smart guys R just annoying..if ya say something the 'wrong' way or write it..they correct ya and that's annoying!!!! I'm not smart either~lol so I don't expect guys 2 be smart and I don't want em' 2 be..just being themselves and crackin jokes is fine 4 me...but I'm sure that ur not ugly...it sounds that U just have low self esteem..give urself a change.

I prefer above and beyond anything else, intelligence in a partner! That's one of my top traits I demand in a partner. I too was born with health issues and am never going to be a supermodel, athletic chick, but I wouldn't want anyone who'd want me as something I can never be. You'll find someone, they're out there...I hope!

It has been scientifically proven that women tend to be attracted to humor (you wondered where you tax dollars went).
For women, looks tend to be a secondary concern. They are usually attracted to personailty traits first.
Self-confident, assertive, guy who shows initiative and takes risks are also attractive to women (being shy, you probably have none of these traits around women, and therefore you need to work at it).
------------------------
...When it comes to sticking together for the long haul, researchers have shown that likeness of personality, which can take more time to realize, means more.
Comedy can also help a relationship. But the importance of humor is different for men and women, says Eric Bressler of McMaster University.
A woman is attracted to a man who makes her laugh, Bressler found in a 2005 study. A man likes a woman who laughs at his jokes. ...
