I love my boyfriend. He loves me. Here is the problem: he is from Jordan and lives there, but he is here this summer. Everything was great at the beginning, but a week ago his father called him to tell him to come home. Why? Because he wants my boyfriend to marry his cousin in an arranged marriage.

My boyfriend broke the news to me about 3 days ago. He spent the days before that calling and pleading with his father to reconsider, since he is in love with me. His father is not moved. Even worse, my boyfriend’s sister is getting married and she is only 17. My boyfriend loves her very much and wants to do everything to stop the wedding. His father has said that he will stop the wedding if my boyfriend comes back and gets married. Also, if he does not go through with his own wedding, he is disowned.

My boyfriend feels utterly defeated. He has given up, but I don’t want to yet.

I am heartbroken. I want to marry this boy, I don’t want him to marry his cousin.

I am getting married in about 2 1/2 weeks and have been debating with myself whether I should keep my maiden name. I would keep my maiden name, maybe as a middle name since I dont have one, and just add my fiances last name. I wouldnt hyphenate either. I just want to see how many women are doing this and age range. I wouldnt really tell people that I kept my maiden name, I mean they could still call Mrs. His last name. But just down on paper and stuff I would have it be my name, lastname and husbands last name. And I am not doing this because I dont think we will be together forever, if I thought that I wouldnt be marrying him! I am doing it because to me my last name is very important, I love it, its me, and I could care less about tradition in this case. So how many women out there have kept their maiden name and added husbands? How do you feel about it, are you happy with it?

Wife and I have been married for 12 years with 3 kids. Sex had started to come mostly in the form of quickies and with a lack of passion. We have always been very open with each other and neither of us are the jealous type. A couple that we had been close friends with a few years back before they moved away and the wife and I rented a beach house in Florida for a week. The first night after the kids went to bed the conversation turned into a very open adult conversation. Nothing physical or even any open suggestions about the others spouse. When we went to bed my wife was on “fire”. She admitted that she thought Brad was hot and had had impure thoughts over the last few hours about him. We had the best sex we had in years. Funny thing was that the next morning Brad and I went on the “Donut” breakfast run he said that he and his wife had fantastic sex that night.
The week continued with plenty of talk, innuendos, and flirting but no physical boundaries crossed. The fact that during conversations we had all admitted that the others we found the others spouse attractive, the vacation atmosphere, and the general lack of clothing involved with the beach created a rejuvenating atmosphere for all of us in the sex department. The wife and I still use this experience 1 year later as fantasy material while having sex. Anyone else very experience something like this?

Is it "legal" for a wife and husband to check each other's email? I let him check mine, but he gets mad when I check his. His work email is always logged on so I can check anytime I want to. Today I just saw that he lied to someone in an email. How can I let him know about this lie without letting him know I've read his email?

I'm going to a wedding in two weeks where my bf is bestman. Unfortunately, although I have a good job, money is very tight lately. My bf and I are going abroad just after the wedding. We just had our anniversary so bought him a gift for that, plus Father's Day and Mother's Day gifts as well as birthday presents for 4 family birthdays in July and August. On top of this, I've just found out that my car needs some major repairs totalling over $1,000... plus rent, insurance, student loans, etc etc...

I have no money to spend on a wedding gift. Even $50 will be a stretch for me right now. I feel awful! Should I just bite the bullet and put $50 in with my bf's gift? (They want cash.) Or is there something else I can do instead? My bf said it's okay if I don't put any money in with his (he would still sign both our names on the card) and I know a gift isn't mandatory, but they're good friends and I feel really bad not giving something...

Any suggestions or opinions are appreciated!

even if you've never met the person face to face?

Are friendships too easily formed via the internet?

What factors into your decision to befriend someone online?

In your opinion, are having more friends on here, better than having only a few? If so, do you find it easy, truly getting to know a variety of people, intimately?

My daughter is 2 years old, and still has my husband's Mother, but she is getting older and has some health issues,so she is limited in what she can do with our daughter. My parents are in their early 60s, and like to be involved from a "distance", i.e. send her a little gift here and there, but don't come and visit (they live in Kansas, we live in Texas) much, and have made it clear that they will not babysit her alone if and when they come down, or if we come up there. This last weekend was my class reunion in Kansas, and we had to leave my daughter down here in Texas because they did not want to keep her for the weekend. They haven't seen her since Christmas! This hurts me deeply, but I know I will never change them. I'm trying not to let it eat at me, but it's difficult, especially when I see all my friends' parents JUMP at the chance to get their hands on their grandkids. How do I cope??

He feels that its all about me all the time and i feel like its all about him. I come home from and ask what he wants for supper and clean whatever needs to be cleaned. He's a nurse so he doesnt work all week. He clames he doesnt cook because he doesnt do a good job. he doesnt let the dog out when he gets up i do it when i get home. I do pretty much anything for him. I dont feel appriciated. He does help clean up but if he sees that i'm cleaning he wont ask to help he'll just go watch tv. we've been married 2 months now and have been having problems the whole time. He claims that he's the one giving in all the time and i guess that's why he feels like it's all about me. I dont want him to give in i want to come up with a solution to the problems. we always argue about the same things and he cant understand why. I'm to the point where i'm starting not to care. i'm a lovy dovy person and for a bout a week now i'm just keeping my distance.

I have been raising my 4 yr. old nephew for a year now on July 4. My S-I-L has really made no attempt to see him or even be in his life.
She left her husband (who she's preggers by) for a controlling woman who runs her life. She has moved back to our home town and has been here for about a month and a half. She has attempted to see him once...and has called 4 times.
She arrived at our home at 12:30am to "retrieve" her son who was sleeping. I calmly told her that she cannot take care of her son...she can't even take care of her daughter (8 yrs) and hasn't seen her since she was 2 yrs old.
Did I mention the fact that she has been in jail more this year than she has been out? We also had to drive to Missouri to pick up my nephew because she was in jail and the chick she was with didn't want him. He would have ended up in foster care. Now... I have to tell you that the chick that didn't want him doesn't have her own kids either because her brother sexually abused them. HELP!

my ex and I are going to court in 3 weeks to determine where my son will reside. He is 5 years old and has spent equal ammounts of time with us both. I disapprove of the way she is raising him such as, she let my son miss 11 unanswered days of school, she will not take him to the doctor, he currently has a hernia which I have taken him to the DR. for, and she don't think is a big deal. I am having to take out insurance for him just so he can have this surgey. She is really a terrible parent. She let her boyfriend put welts on my sons legs, which I did call DSS for, but they dropped the case for some reason. I just know that it would be in my sons best interest to reside with me. At the same time I don't want to ask for to much and end up with less time with my son than I have now. Please help with and suggestions or personnal experiences.

I have been with my boyfriend for many mos now. We seem to have the perfect relationship. Long story short, I found out that while I was on vacation his ex bought a ticket and flew down to see him for 4 days. He swears that he never had sex with her. He says he wouldnt have anyway(sure) but that she was on her period. She says that they did have sex once, the first day. He has sworn on everything important..his life, his parents, my life he even said that as a Marine he swears he never had sex with her. He said that he is willing to take any tests to prove he didnt. To show me how much he loved and trusted me he gave me a key to his apt and called her in front of me at 3am to tell her that it was a mistake that she came down and not to do it again. The other issue is even if they didnt have sex, she still was here for 4 days,he said that she kissed him and he didnt stop her. He told me he is inlove with me and could marry me and so scared of losing me. Im in love with him.Im so Confused
