My daughters shower will be this August. About 200 people invited to the wedding,almost all from out of town. We are not extremely close to our out of town family but all ,of course, will be invited to the wedding.

My question: People will be flying from California to New York, staying in a hotel and all that,if they attend the wedding.I can invite them all to the shower, too,knowing they won't come but after all that potential expense, I feel...funny asking them to a shower to which they cannot go and knowing they feel obligated to send a gift. I, frankly, don't know how many are actaully planning on coming to the wedding..hardly any, I think..So, do we invite them to the shower?

"Danny" is five years old and lives with my in-laws. "Danny's" mom and my husband were previously married, however, "Danny" is not my husband's son. My husband is the only father "danny" has ever known. The situation is quite different. When "danny" and my husband divoreced "danny" stayed at my in-laws and has lived with them ever since then. My husband and I are very active in his life and I care for him as if he were my own. It breaks my heart that his real mother only sees him when she has time for him...she does not visit his school, take him to school or pick him up, does not call to speak with him, doesn't buy his clothes, shoes, school supplies, nothing. She's been picking him up on weeks lately, but as always in short lived. She's not abusive and not completely neglectful. I just don't understand why she doesn't let my husband or his parents adopt him. My husband and I would be more than glad to have him, but "danny's" mom would not ever let it happen. What can I do?

I'm 21 years old, about to graduate from a university with a 3.0, I'm getting married next year, and my life is changing. Of course, I'm not running it the way mom thinks I should. I love her, but she's VERY nosey! She butts into my fiance's business (she even called him at work once to tell him to stop bothering me so much so I can study!), she looks up his legal records online and found things like speeding tickets he'd gotten. She asks me every day, 'What's the news on his divorce???" and I just don't need to talk to her about it; it's not her business. But she gets extremely offended if I say anything to that effect. I need to be careful and tactful with her, because she is volatile. But she is driving us both crazy. She's done everything she could for me my whole life, so I've always withstood how overbearing she is; I thought I owed it to her. But I just can't take anymore. Is there a way to get her to understand that I'm my own person now?

My husband constantly puts his family above me and I'm sick and tired of it. It's like I don't exsist. He doesn't seem to understand that I go above everyone, how can I let him know that without a fight. I've tried speaking to him and it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

people tell me to hang in there because of my divorce and it is very draining and very hard to be a single dad who is part mom to my daughter my soon to be ex-wife tells me that she is glad that i have time to spend with our daughter because she doesn't and i keep telling her that you have to make the time not have the time to spend with our daughter. She realy pisses me off when she uses our daughter as a pawn in our battle, you can split the house, and the money, but you can't split the child.................

Okay, my boyfriend and I have been going out for 4 months. I love him more than anything, but I don't know what to do. He has always been jealous and tells me not to talk to guys that we know that hit on me, because that's disrespectful of him. Yet he can talk to whomever he pleases. He also will play with my heart. He told me he was going to have to go back to his native country (Mexico) just to see if I would follow him. Well I was mad at him today and he was mad at me. We talked and he said he would meet me at 9pm and we left okay but still hurt. Well 9pm came around and he never came or called me. I'm very hurt and I went by his house and he wasn't there. Now of course I'm thinking of the worst and I am mad but I am more hurt. He and I are always together and I don't think he would ever cheat, he doesn't have any other time considering he works two jobs. What do y'all think? What should I do? I love him, but I'm so emotionally exhausted.

I have a sister living with us. she helps us in all our home duties even cooking &cleaning. but he says I spent most of my time with her and didn't give him any attention. so she must leave. whenever we fight before we used to talk and finish by ourselves. currently as the fight arises he asks me whether i need a divorce or not. but i used to say no, why do you ask me this question rather we should talk and correct our mistakes. now i felt that it may be the solution & raised it. he have also beaten me three times & also had an accident on my teeth & hand. what i fear now is that he always appologizes but makes the same mistake & i hate to handle the same faults now & then. He also told me that I have wasted his time. so how can i maintain it? I am so much worried. for the past 2 yrs of our marriage we have fights. I haven't told this to my parents b/se i was feeling that i am protecting him & he also used to say not to tell them. this becomes a headache for them. what can i do?

Why is there such a shortage of women who will take initiative?
Many women complain about a shortage of quality men yet make little effort to meet others. Some of the nicest guys tend to be a bit more on the shy side while the real douchebags tend to have plenty of confidence. And women complain??

I had a huge crush on a guy from college. It turns out that he is totally looking to settle down but keeps getting into bad relationships. After his last relationship, he went off the deep in dated like crazy for a few months, partied like a crazy person, cut off all communication with everyone, then a few months later he re-emerged with a new girlfriend. I think they are getting married after a few months of knowing each other. I'm so disgusted. I'm having a hard time letting go. I don't think he ever really knew I liked him. I feel like I really know his heart and character. He's a great guy. I don't know what to do. After he cut everyone off, I'm afraid he won't talk to me.

I owe a lot to my friends and they are graduating next year leaving me behind cause I am a year younger, but I want to do something extra amazing for them. Something that shows how much they mean to me. I was thinking of doing a scrapbook for each of them but I havent been friends with them long and being able to put those together with the limited pictures I have would be a bit cheesy dont you think? I want to hand make it, no buying from the store (other then the raw materials).
I need help! ideas, comments, whatever i will take them. I am starting a year ahead so nothing is too complex I dont think, so i will take anything!

He has had several "relationships" with women online. He is very romantic and charming. Women love that. Sometimes they send him cards and letters by snail mail.
