That all really depends. Yes a marriage can be great without great sex. Sex is something that becomes great over time and with work. If you mean there is no sexual connection, like you look at each other and don't want to be with each other, then I am not sure how that would work. There has to be spark an intersest to be romantic with your spouse. If the connection is weak because the sex isn't great. Then work on your sex life. That can make a BIG difference in a marriage.

Good luck and I hope this answers what you are looking for.

Yes Im sure some can i dont know anyone personally that their marriage can or could survive without a sexual connection, i mean i dont think it has to be strong because that can be worked on as long as you atleast have a sexual connection and both enjoy it, with eachother. Too many people use their lack of sexual connection to justify their infidelity so no i wouldnt want to spend the rest of my life with someone i dont desire sexually, doesnt turn me on, and cant finish the job. Too many couples and marriages complain about lack of or not being in sync for the desire of it , if you werent compatible sexually it seems kind of hard to try and find a way to be compatible. You have to have something to work with, but if it isnt there, you cant fake chemistry.

It can but depends very much on the sexuality of both partners.
Sex does release hormones which effect our feelings so that sex is a strong bonding agency. If neither partner has a strong sex drive and both are happy and contented with the weak sexual connection their is not a problem. If either one or both are married but looking for a stronger sexual connection outside it will normally cause many problems and jealousies which will put a lot of strain on the marriage.

ABSOLUTELY.....IF THAT IS WHAT THEY BOTH WANT. Now, if either partner is feeling like the other is coming up short and they must have that connection....THE MARRIAGE WILL NOT LAST.

Not everyone has a strong sexual drive and if two people are together like that....IT IS A MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN. I personally know of a couple that only have sex about every 3 months and it does not bother either one of them. They are the first to admit that they have ties in other ways to each other that has nothing to do with sex.

It could work as long as both of the people involved in the relationship were looking more for companionship than sexual release or intimacy. I have heard of some sexless marriages later in peoples lives but if the choice to not have sex was primarily only up to one of the parties then the relationship or marriage is going to fail rather quickly.

Normally, that would depend upon the age of the couple. However, if they are up in age and have been together a long time, it is usual to have a marriage without a strong sex life.

What is a great marriage? That is an abstract word with no measurements.

There are many wives in the history of politics and business that help their business accomplish a great deal, from empires to fortunes. Some of them have big age differences. Would that be a "great" marriage?

Marriage or mirage?

Hmmmmm, I never thought about a connection between these words before, very interesting.

Maybe without a strong sexual connection a marriage is only a mirage?
