i downloaded and ran this program and ever since there has been a fake windows System Alert in the corner saying i have spyware and need to download their program.....i uninstalled the prgram and its still there what do i do?

I have Kaspersky on...but there is a worm threat alarm that tells me this blah blah worm is trying to get into your computer...it is always the same thing..what can I do about it?should I really care or not?

I found both McAfee and Norton's Security Suite packages to be very obstructive and intrusive. I used to have McAfee AV on my old Gateway and Norton Internet Security(Symantic) on my Dell. They were such resouce hogs that I uninstalled them and went with the free version of AVG Anti-Virus, which is very non-intrusive, provides automatic updating, updates daily, and is a great product. I also have AVG Anti-Spyware, which is just as good.

Here is my complete list:

AVG Anti-Virus 7.5
AVG Anti-Spyware Pro
Spybot Search and Destroy
Windows Defender
Spyware Blaster

I also run monthly scans at Trend Micro's Housecall site:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

This site will scan your compuiter and remove viruses, and malware. (It won't interfere with preinstalled AV sofware.) One of the best scanners around. High speed Internet is recommended. You should try this scanner and removal product.

It's info that someone doesn't want anyone to know but me. He is indisposed at this time but he had told both me and his lawyer that I would know the password. AntiVermins and Malware Wiped software have apeared on my computer, by mistake. It keeps telling me my computer is infected with viruses. Telling me the only way to cure the problem is to purchase their software. Following the incident I scan my computer with Norton Internet software, it found a minor tracking cookie.

It has affected my toolbar, will no allow me to work without constant interuptions. How can I remove it.

Running fully updated CA security suite (AV, firewall, spyware), which id's this trojan malware on their site but apparently didn't catch it on it's way into my system (!!). Got the Win SP2 update/patch from MS, but it's still there and using all of one of my 2 processors (50% per taskmgr). How do I kill this thing!? A little afraid of messing too closely with the registry.

Anyone out there contend with this successfully? 'Got any ideas?Thanks in advance :)

I am going to be working away for nearly 8 months and my pc will not be turned on while I am away. It is password protected to stop others in the house using it, and I was wondering if it'll be ok not being used for such a long length of time? Can viruses and stuff attack it if it's not on?

yesterday! I downloaded a file and scanned it right away. It told me that the file was virus free but when i decompressed it, i end up with two files. One that was ok and the other one was a trojan named Kernels88. How come avg didn't detect it when i scanned it just before? Is there another free antivirus that is more effective than avg?
