okay im not talking about the kind of cookies you eat but the kind of cookies someone can put on your computer. i have been doing smart scans every day and full system scans every week. i always find at least 5 cookies, but i never choose to allow them when that little window pops up. i have been removing them, but they always come back! no one else uses my computer. what's going on?

I'm on the internet at a school library, and it's a well-known fact that the librarian can monitor your computer from hers. Is there any way to detect this?

How come having answered Dr Hilary Jones' question about keeping young net-heads safe, in my "Answered questions" list it says he has 68 answers, but when you click through to the question, it only lists 54? Is this a Y!A security thing, or is the site now just swallowing answers?
Just wondering, as one of the lost 14.

Hi, Can anyone tell me how to make AVG scan at a later time? My AVG always starts scanning my computer at exactly 8 AM, but sometimes I stop in from completing the full scan becuz I use my computer for work and the AVG sometimes interrupts my work. Just wondering, how can I make it start scanning at a later time? What do I click on? Please specify exact steps. Since mine does it automatically daily, I don't know how to make it start scanning manually, Thanks

I used Norton Internet Security, 2007 to scan my Pc and once it discovers the virus, it ask me 2 save all my work and restarts instead of removing it and when my system boots, it displays something about my system recovering from a serious system error (at every startup)... but the virus is still there and each time i scan Norton restarts my system to protect it or the system restarts itself. Now I am afraid it will restart my system any minute from now and even more afraid to scan my PC because Norton is afraid of the visus 2, please help me out!

I have a spyware program operating on my pc. i managed to find the name of the application using windows defender but when i use task manager to "End process" the application simply dissapears off of the "processes" list breifly then apears on the list again.

Also i found the folder where the spyware files are, i cannot delete these as it says "program in use". Windows defender wont remove them, it jus restarts my pc and says its all fine when infact the spyware is still running.

There is an icon in the icon tray telling me my system is in danger etc, and when i click it i get taken straight to an anti-spyware website which tells me to purchase the software to remove it, obviously this is the same company which has infected me. Also i cannot use internet explorer as it wont let me load any page apart from theirs, i am currently using my AOL browser.

I am lost for ideas. i cannot stop the application and i cannot delete it. what am i supposed to do?
