every company wants you to pay online. how safe is it. my son works for a computer company and was playing with me and turned off my firewall at the computer he was working on and could see everything i was doing. what if that wasn't my son? how can we pay online without someone getting our bank info?

it is deffenetly not safe at all.. i wouldnt trust it... what if it was someone else who has all your information??? thats why i like money orders and checks mailed... then you can atleast complain and sue if there are any mistakes.. the internet is full of surprizes.. and who would you complain or sue then??? it could have been.. just about anyone.

Use a secure server connection relying on SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). Most payment sites use secure connections. These send and receive data in an encrypted form which means that even if somebody gained access to the stream of data, they wouldn't be able to obtain any information from it.

Look for a lock icon at the bottom of your browser when you order merchandise on the Web. If the lock is closed, you are on a secure connection.
