All the popups you see will be ads. There's no way they could know if you have a virus, so ignore them.
Go to Start/Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs. Then scroll down and see if you can find a program that describes that toolbar. Uninstall it.
Get Ad-aware and scan your computer for ad ware. This gets rid of cookies some websites have placed there to send you unwanted stuff. You can find Ad-aware at the Lavasoft website.
Basic Ad-aware is free. You can also purchase Ad-watch which will protect your computer from Ad-ware constantly.
If you already have an anti-virus program installed on your computer, you don't need another one. Just don't respond to any of those bogus popup warnings.

The problem you have is simple.

You can't resist clicking a Pop-Up that looks like it could help you.

You need reasonably good Anti-virus software to begin with.
You also need something to rid your system of spyware and adware..
If the 'new' toolbar that has appeared on your system is one that you have never seen before and you did not install it, get rid of it!

I prefer to use Mozilla Firefox as it has a very good adblocker built in.
My recommendations would be
1/- AVG Free edition Anti-virus. Its better than people think!
2/- ZoneAlarm (free or Pro) to help hide you from hackers.
3/-Adaware to get rid of adware and spyware.
4/- Mozilla Firefox as your Internet Browzer.

Perform regular scans of your system and update all your software when you can.

Lastly - try to resist clicking the Pop-Ups no matter how attractive they look!

It is a virus. It's hi-jacked your browser.Download superantispyware to remove it. And AD-Aware. Definitely don't download anything they offer it'll just cause more trouble.
Your current anti virus can't be to good if it hasn't found this. Switch
to AOL active virus shield and that will also remove it.
Also have you got a good firewall. If not try Comodo Firewall.
All above are free.

Add info: Does it look like this - http://remove-protection-bar.org/?gclid=CIqwxtbaoYoCFRsYEAod7ntZqQ
If so the link will confirm what I've said above. It's a trojan/virus.

It's only an advertisement to get you to buy software. It didn't scan your system or find anything. If you have virus protection you're most likely OK. The best way to get rid of this is to enable pop-up blockers in you web browser. Then you won't have to see the stupid advertisement.

You've downloaded a free protection programme and installed it. It is linked to a product you are required to pay for. Check your files and see which programme the pop ups relate to and delete it in 'add and remove' programmes from the start menu, control panel.

I had this problem last year. I had adware. You haven't got a virus, but the link will take you to a site where you download more adware of spyware. Whatever you do don't go to the link.

Sounds like their trying to get you to buy their product which more often than not is spyware itself, i had the same problam with a pop up a really nasty piece of porno, saying i had spyware i should buy this particuler spyware remover, just be careful,

It's just adware/malware trying to scare you into buying their product - not a virus. Download Ad-Aware SE Personal & Spybot S&D (both free), either or both will bowl this one out.
