Does it go to your recycle bin?
I ran antivirus and didn't dump mu recycle bin.
Then I ran antivirus again.
I used Avast twice and it came up with stuff.
I then dumped my trash.
Then I ran AVG.
Y'all say AVG is better than Avast! so what is the deal?
Is the recycle bin thing the reason I had to do it all again?

Also...what's your fav antivirus and where can someone get it?
What about ad ware, spyware, anti-spam? What programs do you like?

Recently, everytime I click the i. explorer icon, my computer sends me directly to a website called thesafetytool.com, instead of my regular home page. I did not in any way reset my homepage. A box pops up that says I am at high risk for spyware, and that i need to download antispy gear from them. Has anyone else had a similar exeriece with this site? Is it legit, or is it just spyware itself?

Hi,

For some strange reason today after I restarted my computer I got a message about the Windows XP firewall being switched off (the little red X in the bottom) but...when I click on it, the firewall is turned on, not only is it turned on but the option to turn it off is greyed out and I believe it's interferring with my ICS, none of "Exceptions" or "Advanced" options work either, all greyed out.....how can I fix this?

I have Panda antivirus software installed on my pc and it has had nothing but errors come up for about a year now. I was told these errors are normal unless they dont go away at all...but they really have not went away. I get 2 or more errors everyday. What should I do? I dont think the company has any anwers as to why I am getting errors all the time but if that's the case why dont they just say that and offer me my money back? I need some advice on this please. What would you do if you were in my shoes? thanks everyone.

I asked a few hours ago about how to speed up my internet as it is so very slow at loading pages even though I am connected and have excellent strength, the advise that I would like to follow suggests that I try using PC Pitstop to do a health check and possibly repair any damage that my laptop may have if any at all, the thing I'm not sure about is that it asks me to disable any background applications like firewalls etc, I have McAfee Security Centre antivirus softwear installed, my questions are (A) is it safe to disable my McAfee AntiVirus software to run the PC Pitstop and (B) will I have to totally uninstall the McAfee software, or (C) is there some sort of way of temporarilly disabling the McAfee software...thanks to all for any help ??

Ok this is something I have been very curious about for a while. I have an example before I give the question.

If I was to have a wireless LAN up and running, broadcasting an SSID, but I left the network UNencrypted, yet having some type of MAC address logging software installed on the router...

If someone came buy and started downloading illegal content, who would be at fault. The person providing the unencrypted internet access, or the person downloading the illegal content (whose mac address was recorded, AND NOT SPOOFED).

This question is about not me, please don't e-mail with any hate mail or for any other reason other than to answer the question.

I know that people have different opinions but the following is what I like in an internet security program:

1. To have a nice interface. I don’t like to look old like if it was taken from DOS.

2. It gives you a good security. I tried Norton 2006 but I found that it is a piece of rubbish. I even discovered that my laptop had viruses and Norton kept telling me “No viruses found!”

3. I don’t want it to slow down my laptop. Because I also tried McAfee, which is fine, but it killed my laptop and made very slow especially at windows start ups.

4. It shouldn’t be very annoying. Like Kaspersky for example, which it takes your permission to allow any software on your pc to connect to the internet even internet explorer. And it keeps asking you every time you run any software.

I think that I tried the most popular internet security programs but still couldn’t find the best. Please help me find the best internet security program…

Thanks in advance
