No one button answers here, but:

A two-button combo is Start (Windows) key + D or Start key + M. I guess D for desktop and M for minimize all. Depending on the application, you could try Alt+F4 to close the window. You can also try to quickly switch to another window/application (must have at least one other thing running) by hitting Alt + Tab.

I am afraid they're wrong. There is a solution to make everything invisible temporarely with one keystroke or one shortcut.

It's available with a software called "Don't Panic".

I used to use it a long time ago when I was watching pr0n, you know, and my mother just keeps coming so.. one keystroke helped me at the time, perhaps to switch my screen to a scientific magazine :P

Anyway, here's the link of the software, but I don't think it's a freeware, try to have a turn around to make it work :)

WindowsKey-L will lock the computer and hide the screen. Use your regular password to get back.

Turn off the monitor.
I've done this sometimes. Turn it on again when you
ready. It doesn't affect what you were doing.
