If you have a program on your computer telling you to get to clean an infection, do not do it. It is a bogus program.

If the above is true, you also have a Vundo Trojan on your computer and need to remove it. Vundo fix will remove it.

The procedure should fix Vundo-based Winfixer(WinAntiSpyware, WinAntiVirus, Blackworm, Amaena)problems.

Please download Atribune's VundoFix.exe (version 4.2.71 [as of 21 April '06], or later), from

http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4

and save it to your desktop.

Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.

Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.

You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK Note: If VundoFix does not reopen after a minute (or two), then you should skip-over the "Run as a task" step, and continue-on to the following steps to SCAN and REMOVE.

When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.

Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.

You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.

When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.

Turn your computer back on.

If VundoFix fixed your problem, then help prevent a re-infection:

There is much speculation that a "hole" in some older versions of SUN's Java is being exploited by WinFixer. So you should upgrade to the latest version, 1.5.0_09 from http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

My personal preference is to download the MANUAL (OFFline) installation (16 MB).

But if you prefer the online installation, that choice is yours.

AFTER you successfully install the new Java, go to your control panel, ADD/REMOVE programs, and UNinstall all older versions of Java (if any) that still show up there....

Yes, this program is related to a serious of rogue spyware programs.

The program itself has some uses. However, most people are tricked into buying it by getting infected with a trojan called Z.lob. Once infected you'll get pop ups advising you to download Winantivirus Pro 2006 to remove it.

Winantivirus trojan gets installed on PC by downloading
free programs from untrusted sites.

Another way is "drive-by-downloads". If you don't have your browser configured to stop drive-by's you're seriously at risk.

Finally, recent reports show winantivirus trojan is installed by downloading media player codec from suspected bad sites.

For more information, go to this site and find out for yourself the dangers...

Bad Bad Bad!

"aggressive advertising (1, 2, 3, 4); false positives work as goad to purchase; inappropriate collection of Personally Identifiable Information; same company as WinAntiSpy 2005, WinAntiSpyware 2006, & Wixfixer"

I have used spybot search and destroy program i look at the bot names as it scrolls through to check for that particular bot and the winantivirus pro 2006 shows up it the list as a spyware program. do not use it instead i reccomend though I don't yet use it. Windows live one care avaible as a 90 day free trial on the microsoft website good luck getting your computer fixed I personally would tell you to install norton from a physical cd and clean your system from there.

I would not recomend that program. Instead, go for Ad-Ware. It is very dependable and good in cleaning.
