My neighbor has a wireless internet access. The thing is that it is not protected or encrypted by any firewall or passwords. So today he came to my house and started telling me how someone in the neighborhood is hacking him and 3 hard drives were fryed for past few months and he is reformating windows every week or so because his windows keeps getting hacked and currupted. Its one long confusing story but what makes me wonder is that the hacker seems to be using a radio frequency to access his internet somehow. How can that be possible and how can the hacker be exposed? That beside the hacker was hacking my brothers laptop while my brother was connected to the same unsecured network and some of his files were moved from the laptop hard drive to the other PC at the neighbors PC. That being bad already the hacker seems to be taking pictures of people in the community and sending them to their PC desktops after hacking them.. any help is welcome..sorry for all this confusion in words.

O.K. I know I am the master of getting ripped off. I try to live minimally but when it comes to car and computer problems I feel like I am always getting ripped off. Recently, I had a virus on my computer so after trying everything I could, I finally called a WELL KNOWN COMPANY that said they could help. I told them what I had already done and they reassured me with "we are professionals, relax and we'll take care of it". Well, they did EXACTLY the same thing I had already done and guess what... it didn't work. I talked to a different person at the same place the next day and he said "oh, I didn't realize you had THAT. We cannot remove THAT." I said "Well then why did you take my flippin' money?!?" He said, "sorry, no guarantees". More like no customer service. I feel SO ripped off! By the way... does anyone have a customer service telephone number that will reach a real, live, person who can do more than read a script (and most importantly issue a refund) at SYMANTEC?

When my PC powers up, it asks for password to login Windows XP. It always says wrong password when I enter it for the first time. After that, I can log in and out repeatly without problem. I confirmed this numerous times and it is very consistent that Windows always reject my password in the first attempt. I am sure I enter it correctly.

I now have housemates, and I want to create a new desktop for my computer. If it helps, my O.S. is Windows 98.

What I want to do is create a new, "empty" desktop, so that only I can log on to my "current" setup. If anyone else uses my computer, they will only get a "plain" Desktop and none of my folders, favorites, etc.

There must be a way to do this, without having to re-write all of my current setup.

Ideas?

Have tried everything, I have purchased AVG, downloaded Avast and many many more, they either pick it up, but cannot delete or remove, spybot, no adware you name it i have tried it,

I got a trojan that installed spyquake and other spyware yesterday. I used SmitRem on it and it worked, it got rid of it. Today, my computer goes to turn on and it wont go past the :Windows is Starting Up" screen. The mouse is moving and everything, so i no it is not frozen. What should i do? Pls Help

I have only recently installed internet for the first time in my life. While allowing Dell and Microsoft updates on my computer I also erroneously allowed US based thieves called popcorn.net to install their 3-day free trial license in my computer. Now, since 29 August, they regularly keep appearing on my computer, changing my desktop picture, and demanding extraordinay payments that have nothing to do with me. All my efforts to remove their programme via add/change/remove programmes have failed, and their FAQ menacingly says that no one can remove their license without payment! I have absolutely no interest in their service, have made no use of it, and have absolutely no desire to pay these corrupt people for what was supposed to be a 3-day trial anyway! Please tell me how to get rid of these outrageous people.They are driving me round the bend and I am deeply upset. Thank you very much to anyone who knows what to do and can help. Philip A.

I'm at school and i have nothing to do. Most of the sites i got to like runescape, and myspace and yahoo games are all restricted so does anyone no how to get past these firewalls or something? Is there a site i can go to to type in the site i want to go to the get past the firewalls? Please, this would really save me from boredom. THANKS!
