My email was running slow and I was told that disbaling the email scanning would speed it up and would not leave my computer vulnerable to viruses or malicious software received by email, that this is a separate, additional layer of protection. As long as AUTO-PROTECT feature, which scans all incoming files as they are saved to the computer hard drive, regardless of whether the files are received via email, file sharing software, FTP, or download directly from a website is enabled and you keep it up to date, your computer will be fully protected. Is this true?

2 Days ago i was on the computer and Mcafee Personal Firewall Plus came on saying it blocked an intrusion attempt. I clicked to trace the ip address and it said it was some guy in Amsterdam and gave a name. Later, it popped up again, and this time it traced to Mountain View California and said it was from Google! Why would Google be trying to hack me? Later it did it again but i accidently clicked ok, so i did not get to trace it. Yesterday, i was working, some guy made another attempt. It was somewhere in Asia, i cant remember. Later, it came again and said that it was some Puerto Rico cable service's abuse department. Later still, it came on and said it was Comcast cable. This is strange because before the above incidents, i had never had a hacking attempt before, and suddenly there is a whole bunch. What should i do. Im worried about why people from a company's Abuse department would attempt to hack me, and why Google and Comcast would. Pls give some advice.

We suspect that our ISP is blocking VOIP and would like to find a good IP tunnelling service that would allow us a way to get around the block that the ISP is putting up.

Global hooks, are they pre-infection of the rootkit or post-infection? If they can exist on any writable storage media: How many types of the WSM is there on my computer built in; How do I sanatize in this instance; How many of the WSM are long term vs. flushed per reboot? If I make backups of important files, like copying to CD, will the rootkit copy itself with the backup files?
