i have kaspersky antivirus, windows fiewall, and yahoo pop up blocker on a win xp home os i cant stop the damn things from opening up unless i disconnect network cable

sounds like spyware to me - have you tried adaware or spybot search and destroy. Installing Windows Defender might help also.

Well, most of the time, it will not open a pop up if your enable yahoo anti-popup. One known exception is when you visit the porn site, and click on the link(s), then voila.
To stop these, press Alt & F4 and repeat it real fast. Alt & F4 is the command to close an open window. No trick.

You have adware on your computer. These are downloaded added to legit programs. You will know these are being downloaded if you read the EULA of the legit program. Go here if you want to remove it properly.

Pop ups are a sign of spyware.
Goto www.ewido.net and run the free version to scan and remove.

I highly recommend you download SUPERantispyware. It will fix that problem. It is VERY VERY effective and it is free.
