I'd be surprised if it's just Norton having problems. Try using Internet Explorer to browse web pages- does that work? Of course it's also possible that Norton's update site is temporarily having problems, and your router installation just happened to be around the same time.

Make sure your computer is set to communicate through the router. Set the computer to obtain an IP address through DHCP, and use the router address as your gateway.

This sounds more like a firewall issue than the router.

Make sure you are using only one firewall, Using two will cause a problem. Disable one. that should work
