I use my computer mostly for work things like internet, email, word, etc. It isn't that slow but it would be great if it went a little faster. What could I buy that would make it faster? I have really basic parts in it nothing fancy. Maybe a new processor would help?

My printer is in at HP for repair right now, and I have a Lexmark 4100 I can use but it has no power cord, is that all I need? it has ink cartridges and a connector for a parallel cord or a usp connection. where could I get the power cord?

I am using iTunes' back up files method to transfer all my music to my new laptop from my desktop. My desktop drive says DVD+R, and my laptop drive says DVD-RAM. If I burn a disc that is a DVD+R, will my laptop be able to recognize it and load it?

i can't close the calc. when i use it because i am between mice at this time, and i used to pride myself on working with the keyboard... now i use the calc alot and realized i never knew how to turn it off. HELP!!!!

Hi, i'm having trouble installing my Epson C48 printer, here is a screenshot of the error message that I recieve:

I have downloaded a new driver from the Epson website, I have checked my system registry files and all are ok. Why do I have this error message?

Computer keyboard acting funny

Some of my keys are double typing letters

0 is typing 90
9 is typing 09
o is typing ;o
p is typing p-
L is typing ?L
and so on and so forth
Its only 8 keys. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers The board checks out clean. whats next?

I have a 2X 1gb DDR2 6400
and
2X 512mb DDR2 4200

Can I install the two kits?
then, if so:
Will the system run slower with the addittion of the 1gb or will it run faster? (i.e will both sets run @ 4200?)

i have a ibm think pad and it has an internal cdrom drive that is no longer showing up in the device manager screen. when i put a disc inthe light on the drive flashes and i can feel it startup and read the disc but i can not play my games or music or movies!! can any one help me solve this issue?

1. is there a pure nvidia gf 8800 gtx to buy...? or i must buy it under a brand.. such as BFG and EVGA..?

2.i have seen there are many wires hanging out from the power supply...wht happen if my mobo just have a 24 pin header while the wire from the power supply is 20 pin...?
and there are also many 4 pins plug hanging out from the power supply... what are they for...?

There is not enough room on my primary HDD for everything i want to keep in the My Documents folder but i have a huge 320 gig secondary HDD. Any files stored on that drive can be seen by anyone. But, if i have my My Documents folder there those files and folders in My Documents will only be seen by me. i have heard of this being done before but i have no clue on how to do it. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!! p.s. I am the computer admin.

I ask this question once before. I will ask it again in another way.

I now know how to assemble my own computers, and I also know how to set up a small network, about 10 computers.

I also know how to use Ghost to copy Windows to all the computers in the network at one go.

I also know how to program and use the router, through not completely and mostly only Cisco routers.

Some of you suggested I started a carrier in IT Hardware, some suggested I be an administrator for network, others suggested I be a computer consultant or ursue a career in I.T.

The question I want to ask is, is what I know good enough for me to start a career in IT - perhaps in administration or hardware, or do I need to know more before I seek my career?

How much do I really need to know before I seek a career in IT?

I bought a game and it says that these video cards are supported:
Nvidia: Geforce FX series, Geforce 6 series, Geforce 7 series ATI: Radeon 9500, 9550, 9600, 9700, 9800, X500, X550, X800, X850

*All integrated video chipsets are not supported, Intel Extreme Graphics/Media Accelerator and SiS chipsets included.

*Geforce MX and Ti series cards not supported.

My computer video card is Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family.... Will This work for my game???
