This is my first time building a computer, and I am not sure about compatibility between by parts, especially the MoBo and Hard Drive. Does anyone have a good Motherboard/Hard Drive combanation?

The question here was Mother board/ Hard Drive compatibility. Not mother board CPU.
The only thing to make sure of is that your mother board is Serial ATA compatible to be compatible with the newer hard drives. The serial ATA Board generaly accept an IDE ATA hard drive as well so you will have both of those covered. There is also SCSI but I don't think you are going to worry about that one your board will not take it without an adapter card unless you send about $400 just for the MB.

all harddrives will work with all motherboards - I think all the problems re size limits et al have now been sorted - just don't by a scsi or sata one unless you especialy want one

When building a PC you usually start with the CPU and take it from there. Do you have a CPU in mind for your new build?
