I used the microsoft upgrade advisor and it is saying that my video card will not support Windows Aero. Should I take that as a fact or does anyone else know if it would be good enough to use for Vista Home Premium with Aero?

I found out what Graphics card I'm using (SIS 315) and downloaded the necessary drivers, but when I try and install it, it doesn't finish, it says something about not finding the driver, whats that all about? what can I do now?
I've tried downloaded the driver from all different sites, even the official one and they're all identical, what can I do?

Hello everyone,

This question is mainly directed towards those computer-savvy people. I bought a computer last year to be used as a backup in times of need. Anyway, the motherboard is a MSI PM8M2-V (http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=PM8M2-V&class=mb). It's currently using a Pentium 4 2.6ghz (socket 775) with hyperthreading I think.

I'm now wondering what's the fastest processor I can upgrade it to. A friend of mine said I could upgrade it to a LGA775 Pentium D 3.4 Ghz. Is this possible? I don't want to purchase the wrong parts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

My mouse pointer keeps moving erratically all over the place and randomly clicking on things even though I'm not touching it. It's not wireless so it's got nothing to do with that - it's an optical usb mouse if that helps. If it's not a virus, what the hell is going on and how do I fix it, it's so annoying!

My computer is going really slow. I run both the disk cleanup, and disk defragmenter all the time. When I click on the desktop shortcuts, it takes forever for them to load. I sometimes have to click on it again to "remind" the computer of what it's supposed to be doing. Help!

had my pc open to fix a problem i had- i fixed it nicely then by accident the wires for connecting a cd drive that were hanging down touched the connection points on the cd drive. it sparked and the pc went dead. what have i done? is it an expensive repair or can i fix a fuse somewhere?i have checked the main power supply, the problenm is within the pc. aaarrgh!

My work PC has been having an intermittent rattling sound lately. What do you think... could this be spyware, tracking SW, or a keystroke detector? Does a keystroke logger have to be placed onto a hard-drive, or can it be done at the server (network level)?

Can I see something if I open the computer, and what would it look like?

Which anti-spyware program do you recommend...can any detect these things even if they're installed at the network level?
