Will PCI express do the job for me? i will play some of the newer games.

Yes as everyone already said get PCI express! Make sure not to get pci regular though i assume you already know this because you didnt mention it.

yes, definitely PCIe x16 is better than AGP 8x. now a days, AGP is rarely used. and more cards are released which are compatible with PCIe. the newer cards like the nVIDIA geforce 9500 series provide high resolutions for the best of games. and in the future AGP will become obsolete and PCIe will replace it completely. so its better that u go for a board with PCIe rather than a AGP 8x

It is faster and with some vendors you can link multiple graphics cards together.
