Dont panic
Its all the function of virus called odion [ Not sure about the spelling ]. once your pc gets infected with that virus your cd rom tray will automatically eject out and close in mutual periods. My advice would be this better remove your cdrom drive and test it with any of your friends pc. If it doesnt malfunction then there is nothing wrong with the hardware and all you have to do is clean you pc with good antivirus tools like Norton. before running norton make sure that you have updated definition files so that it catches the very latest virus which may cause you the trouble. Visit this site for updated definition http://symantec.com

Good luck

you might have a faulty CD rom or ur pc is being infested by some malware. try take out the IDE cable from the back of the CDROM and start your computer.if it still open and close by itself, you have a spoilt CD ROM.
well, if it only happen when you are running you windows, u need to have a malware cleaner or a good virus scanner to sniff and block out the "backdoor" access.

I doubt it really is a scourge. accessible, i wager. sounds like you've a defective cd pressure. Do you've an old one? attempt utilising that one, and if it doesn't take position with that one, then you definitely want a clean cd pressure. it might also be a defective motive force. in case you want to envision for viruses, use Dr. internet, Malwarebytes, Hitman professional, or Superantispyware.

before you call the priest, find an external usb cdrom drive and attach it to your computer.

you may need to install the drivers if any.

test the new external usb cdrom drive.

if ok, then go to "my computer" > control panel > system > device manager > disable the old cdrom drive.

cheers and good luck!
