So if its, a 2.8 Ghz...Then its like having a processor thts a 5.6, Then its really good right...like some answers thank you

no. not even if both cores can process the same task. but the CPU is faster when processing multiple tasks but not at the double speed. keep in mind that both cores uses one and the same resource - the system bus.

No, just the opposite. It's like 2-1.4's, but there's an in and out processor.

The operating system (OS) perceives each of its execution cores as a discrete processor, with all the associated execution resources.

In other words, Half the processor, works twice as fast beause it only does 1/2 the work and used less power.

that's not the way it works. but it's still pretty good, I've got one. it's a Pentium D HP Media center and it runs games like crazy fast. almost too fast!!!

no just half it (1.4) and then multiply by 2 and u get 2.8 ghz
