One more thing, I also tried to install a PC game, but it sayed to lower the resoltuion, is there any relation between this and my other two problems?

Hi, I just purchased a replacement power supply for my HP Pavilion 8655C, but the new power supply is missing a 3-prong inline female connector (black/green/black) that plugs into the motherboard, and I'm wondering if I need it or not. Can anyone tell me what it's for? Thanks.

If you think you know it pretty well… then good, you can help me out here. Can you please tell me what this wavy dash symbol is called (~)? On a standard American keyboard, it is directly to the left of the number 1 and under the “Esc” key.

I know that this => (&) is called the ampersand, this => (-) is called a hyphen or dash, and this => (*) is called an asterisk, but I realized I have no idea what that wavy symbol is called – and I cannot find it online. Ha Ha! So if you could tell me that would be great. Thanks.

I know what it is, but do you? I see this term used incorrectly all the time. The first right answer will be selected the best.

I am looking to upgrade my computer from the 128 ram 35gb 1244ghz unit i have at present

I use broadband a lot and download songs and surf the net of sustained periods. My current computer gets very slow after 30 mins and no amount of maintainance seems to sort it , so its got to go.

What is a good spec to have that will ensure i dont have to upgrade soon????.

Is 1 mb ram , 150gb hd and 3000mz good enough ??

Your advice please.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000 128MB AGP card installed. Its temperature increases rapidly when I run a game. I can't turn on the effects (Motion Blur and etc.). If I do so the game freezes and I have to restart the machine. When I'm working in the desktop the temperature is above normal.

I had the same problem with my earlier VGA card , so I replaced it with the present one. But the problem remains the same.

Where do you think the real problem is? is it with the M/B? or with the AGP port?

My M/B is a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro-G and I'm running XP SP2.

I'm a programmer, hardware guy..... what not... but I'm confused!

What does 'HDD' stand for?
1. Hard Disk Drive (I knew this)
2. High Density Disk (I read it in a 'Quiz Book')
