Clean out some files from your hard drive.

First thing, go to START -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup.

Run that. When the box comes up, check everyting listed and run it. That will delete all the garbage files.

Once that's done, Find any data files you can move like video files, MP3 files, etc and MOVE them to the external hard drive.

First of all, if you mean by fix this, to make more space available, -

>>try to delete the programs that you don't use often, go to Control Panel and go to Add/Remove Programs, and then delete the stuff that you don't use.

>>if you need all of those programs, add a new memory stick to your computer.

>> oh yeah, go to tools/ Internet options to delete Cookies and Temporary files, And the History if you want.

>> you can always get a new hard drive, but your files and softwares.... will be deleted( not for laptops)( but i don't recomend it.)

>> or Clean out you disk...( same as the first one)

You did not specify machine & OS.

For Windows XP based machines

go to
programs->accessories->system tools->disk cleanup

It gives a number of options like

compressing old data (this is very useful)
and clearing all temporary data left by various applications

In addition I also suggesting, deleting your personal files (whichever is not required) or moving them to an external drive like USB

Some of the easiest things to do are to look at your Temp directory (typically C:\Temp or C:\Windows\Temp) and delete older larger files first. Then I would do a Search or Find on your hard drive for files larger than 100MB, sometimes you can find runaway log files or large number of dump files. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DELETE YOUR SWAPFILE - typically pagefile.sys. This is your memory space. Then you can use Control Panel Add Remove Programs to remove programs you no longer use.

Use Window's Accessories--System Tools to start with--Disk Cleanup and Defragmenter. Delete cookies and unused files under Tools in Explorer. Then go through your E-Mails and clean house. Good luck. It may be time to treat yourself to a new computer.

delete the things that you DONT need thats on your pc.
then do a ad-aware check. if you need to download this, go to www.lavasoft.com and get this on your pc. it will take all the ad- aware off and anything else it dont need. hopefully you'll have more space on your pc. make sure you do a disk cleanup! that will also help!
good luck!

I would first goto add/remove programs from start/settings/Control Panel.
I would un-install any programs that are not needed.
Then I would delete documents that are not needed.
If you want, I can do a netmeeting with you and help.

Delete some files, move some off onto disks or cds, and empty all your temporary files, then empty the trash.

You must have a tiny HD. That's ok, I guess. Some men do. Delete some files or get a bigger HD.
