third party or RAID driver... what is it?

when installing windows it always asks if you want a RAID driver/third party installed (it asks you to press F6)

..but what are these drivers? what is it all used for?

I have a Sony
Model : VAIO VGC-RB30
Memory : 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB (removable)
Maximum amount of memory : 2.0 GB
CPU : 3.0GHz Intel Pentium 4 530j
Chipset : 800MHz FSB, Intel 915G Chipset.

This is a two part Question
1.)What is a Chipset. I went on intels website and it says its upgradable up to 4gb of RAM but the sony website says its only upgradable to 2gb why is that and can i put 4 sticks of 1gb each is is says no???????

2.)My CPU. I wanna upgrade that too but im not sure if my computer can support it. I wanna get a "Intel® Core™2 Duo Desktop Processor E6600" On intels website

I logged onto my computer today after not touching my computer all day, and when I logged onto my iTunes every single one of my songs, music videos, tv shows, everything was gone... and we I went to download the free single of the week again, it said I had alread bought it, but when I looked in my purchased folder it wasn't there. For some reason everything is either hidden somewhere, or I don't know. Does anyone out there know what to do to get all my music back?

my computer is a newer one, so it didn't come with a disk drive, i was wondering how i could completely formart my hard drive

i had to install windows three times, and only the one out of three work, because i thought windows had formatted my hard drive while it was re-installing, but the other re-installed xp editions are still there.

No sound coming out. My pc tells me the sound programme is ok, the driver is ok and the speakers are working, so i guess the sound card got blown when there was a recent power surge (via the modem).
So how do i put a new one in? Opened it up, but i am a novice and recognise nothing. What do i look for, and is it a case of pull the old one out and pop the new one in?
Are all s-cards basically the same or can you recommend one?

A friend has a USB Flash memory 512 MB, he has lots of very important data on it .. for some reason it stoped working !! tryed connecting it on more than one PC .. i even tryed connecting it to Mac .. still not working .. the computer will not even notice u connected it to the USB .. as if it's not there ..
Any sugestions !!!

I need a PC that will have with at least 1gig of RAM, a high-end processor, and nice video card. It would be nice to have an upgradeable motherboard also just in case I would like to expand. I would like it to have a nice wireless network card that runs at max connection. I need it to be cooled so that it doens't lock up. DON'T need Monitor, Mouse, keyboard, or speakers.

My few of my keyboard letters are wearing off, and I don't want to replace the keyboard. Does anyone know of a way of replacing the letters that have worn off without replacing the entire keyboard?

My CPU has just come back from being formatted and it worked fine when i turned it on...i turned it off that night and the next morning...i tried turning it on and it would only show an error message reading "NTLDR is missing. Press ctrl+alt+del to restart"....so i did and it just got the same message...then i tried setup and booting menu and everything to check all is alright and it still didn't work....and then i did the biggest mistake i could do...by refering to the settings of my brothers computer...i changed the values on my setup window and options to correspond to the other computer and now it wont even start up....this is literally what happens...i turn it on...the fans start, the lights light, i hear a few beeps and then nothing...the fans are still on but the monitor shows nothing even when i restart and it only says 'no signal input'....i know im in so deep i might just have to buy a whole new CPU but is there anyway i can fix this? please give details. thank u so much!!!
