C Drive is your primary drive, which usually has your operating system. What D drive is really depends on how you have partitioned your hard drive. You can partition your hard drive space to form multiple drive letters. If you have partitioned your hard drive, then D Drive is another part of your hard drive. If you have not partitioned your hard drive space, then D Drive is probably your CD Rom drive or DVD drive.

Varies from computer to computer. Assuming both C and D drives are your Hard Disk partitions, there isn't much difference between the two.

C Drive is the default location where the Windows OS is installed and all Windows OS system files are stored.

D Drive, on the other hand, is where you can store whatever you wish, format whenever you wish. The system doesn't require any files from D Drive to run properly. This is, assuming that your Windows installation drive is C (default installation).

Both are stored in the same hard disk (in technical terms). But C drive is the place where the operating system files reside. It is the heart. All files which are essential to operate a computer (apart from programmes and games) are stored in the c drive. we should not delete any file without complete knowledge about it from c drive. Whereas D drive is just additional storage space provided by harddisk. you can store your photos, songs, games, stuff etc., sometime you can load ur programmes to ur d drive also (but that is a technical job). i hope this helps you.

C drive is your main hard drive...you can add and delete information from this drive...your D drive is the drive that holds your operating system hard drive and can not be added to...when you do a system restore your D drive holds all of the programs and information from when you purchased your computer...if you were to format your D drive, then your computer would be basically useless until you downloaded programs onto it...your C drive is the only one you would want to format or restore...hope this helps...cheers

it's the name, like a number assigned to it. I have a D drive, a C drive, a G drive, and an F drive. I use each like a different partion. C drive usually holds your personal data like your word documents, as well as program files. This is where most things get saved to automatically

Nothing, it's just a name of a disc drive. Typically, the C drive is your primary drive, which contains your operating system. The D drive is most likely a secondary drive which you can store extra files.

Drive C is the main drive on your computer (the hard -drive)

D drive can be an alternate drive that may even be detachable (like an E drive)

The letter is simply the identity of the drive. C usually represents your primary harddrive which often contains your operating system and most of your installed software. D and above can be anything from extra harddrives, optical drives, flash drives, etc.
