Yeah should be no dramas at all. THe architecture of Win2K and WinXP are very similar. IF there's a problem, then right click on the shortcut to the game, choose the compatibility tab and set it compatible with an earlier version of windows.

W2000 and XP are "the same"

A game made for W2k will certainly be compatible with XP because XP is a more Updated Version with Legacy Support for older w2k compliance.

If done Vice-Versa,,,a game made for XP played on W2000,,
Would probably work fine,,,worst case would be having to get updated drivers .

There's so little difference,,very few things can tell theres any difference at all

Windows 2000 was released almost 2 Years before XP.
XP is really just an Upgrade of W2000,
There's lots of "Windows 2000" stuff out there that makes NO Mention of XP compatibility,,,simply & ONLY because XP did not yet exist.

XP IS W2000,,with a fresh coat of paint.
looks nicer,,but same ol' thing underneath

Windows 95,98,98SE,and ME/Millenium Edition--
all those are an entirely different family than XP & it's relatives.

Almost none of W-98 based software will work on XP-type machines.

You can find good deals on W2000 stuff,,which is Exact same as XP.
It's almost like MIS-LABELLED cuz it dont mention XP,,,
it's only an Older Label than "XP products"

But,,leave the "good deals" on W-98 era software for somebody with a 98 type machine.
They're Not such a good deal for XP owners when they wont work:)

Have Fun!!

The operating systems are the same. As long as all the minimum game requirements are met, then the game should work. There is also a compatibility feature on a lot of software that will enable you to run an older program on xp.

The core of XP and 2000 are similar, being built around NTFS. Its 99% certain that any win 2000 game will work with XP, but if in doubt always ask in the game shop.
