hi i have a Soyo SY-P4I875P DRAGON 2 Platinum MB and i was wondering if it supports SATA II?
here are the specs:
http://www.soyousa.com/products/proddesc.php?t=d&id=233&PHPSESSID=e6da179e97ed02286cd35d077344396d

i don't see it any where that it says SATA II.
so if i used a SATA II HD and hooked it up would it work? would i get SATA II data transfer speeds?

Forgive my ignorance but I've never understood how it goes. Is the higher number faster or the lower number? For example, 16x or 48x? I think the lower, but, again, I'm not sure.

Problem is, I got rid of the tower as I moved from the US to Europe (did not think about copying that reference) and Microsoft will not release a number or an info to unblock it without the Windows number on the side of the Tower. When I insert the hard drive in the new computer it sends me a message asking to put a long number in the empty spaces and I don't have that number (yes, the one on the tower !!!) I really have a lot of important info on that hard drive and I need them. Does anybody know what to do without having that number. Your help would be really appreciated. Thanks

I am trying to see if there is anything out there that a public man can get hold of to automatically backup my hard drive

Basically the situation is that i do it manually about once a week, but there is always that week gap...so i was wondering if there was something out there that could sort of mirror the hard drive to another hard drive, so if i work on a file and save it, it will also save on the other / external hard drive automatically with out me doing anything!

Be very useful if we could get something like this!

Thanks alot!

I have a pentium 4 2.5 ghz
and I want to replace the motherboard to one that supports more powerful CPUs like duo core

Does replacing the motherboard affect the hard drive or my copy of windows xp which has no CD, it is allready installed on the hard drive, and there is a system restore feature by hitting F10 when it is restarted, so im guessing that if everything is deleted I would still be able to recover the fatory default copy of windows xp, I wouldnt mind that but I would prefer to keep my files.

My laptop screen doesn't go above 1024x768. I have other coworkers who have the same laptop with the same video card. I have no clue to the reason why my screen can't go any higher than 1024x768. I would like it to goto 1600x1200.

Anyone got a clue?
