My laptop screen doesn't go above 1024x768. I have other coworkers who have the same laptop with the same video card. I have no clue to the reason why my screen can't go any higher than 1024x768. I would like it to goto 1600x1200.

Anyone got a clue?

Both your screen and video card have to support up to 1600x1200 in order to use that resolution.
also try to install the latest driver for your video card

The screen may be physically different - Dell has sold laptops with screens that run at a variety of maximum resolutions. If you didn't order yours with the higher resolution, then you can't use the higher resolution.
