Hi Robin...I've been using both Mac and PCs, but personally favour the Macs mostly due in part because it's my livelihood as Mac OS Certified Engineer since 1985. I like the simplicity and ease of use of all their machines. The best feature is that recent iteration of OS X is more flexible allowing the ability to use Unix codes which I use to compile programs for the PC's. Plus the latest Intel Macs give the added option of use Windows Xp on the system giving the one the best of both worlds all in one machine.

I have a Mac G4. It's my third Mac and I absolutely love it. The only problem I have is that when I run the Safari browser I keep getting a window that wants a keychain entry and I don't know what to do. I'm told there is a fix, but I don't know what it is. Other than that, no complaints. (I used a PC extensively at work and I like my Mac much better. For one thing, it's a lot more stable.) I've used a Mac for over 18 years and I'm still quite happy with it.

Also, there's much less danger of virus infection. I've NEVER had a problem but ALL my PC friends and acquaintances have been bitten.

I have an iBook G4. Not exactly a power house, but I love it, it is better then any windows machine i have ever had.

I have no pop-ups, no viruses, no hangs, no blue screen of death. More stable, what not to love.

Will never go back to windows, I find Mac more intuitive then Windows, I use the help a whole lot less.

But I do miss the pleasure of running a defrag, since Mac does it automatically when it needs it.

I am on one now, a G4 10.4.8 (Tiger) and receive a load of virus almost every day, but nothing happens to me. So I clean up every day with Disk Utility application and erase free space, after
dumping all caches and cookies. I do this so as not to pass to Microsoft users any hidden invader. The strongest point, for me is iPhoto 6.05 which does most adjustments on Photos
excepting interpolation for which I have Photoshop
(which is almost retired).
My hobby is photography. I use most of the Applications and
iTunes is hard to beat. Only problem is Safari 2.04 which simply
turns off whenever I enter this Q&A site, and since I have always
been a Firefox fan, and even run trials and reports for them, I
now have the 2.0 Beta which I strongly recommend for all Macs
that have the minimum requirements. I have been running the 2.0
version since the first trial version earlier in the year. For those
that do not meet the minimum requirements, download the 1.5
Beta which is the same but with fewer tabs. The 2.0 also has an
anti phishing built in that will reject doubtful mail. My wife has a
Microsoft XP which I don‘t even know how to switch on. Cheers to
all you Mac users, Iain Ritchie

I have the G5 Quad processor with 800gb hard drive and 2gb RAM ... and it is like driving a Ferrari! It's my television, my stereo, my games console and my work station. Alongside it, I also run a PC but I rarely use it these days. I used to think there were lots of things that a Mac couldn't do that a PC could ... but I soon changed my mind. It's been a year since I converted and am about to buy the Powerbook too.

I have used Apple products since 1977. They have all been great. I am currently using a G4 iMac running OS 10.2.8. Both my kids use it for school, research and of course games. Apple builds really solid hardware and they stand behind it. I love the fact that I can run M$ Windoze on their new machines, because I occassionally need that for work. Mostly because our VPN connection will not support any OS except the approved one (MS XP Pro)

I have a piddly little iBook G4, but I love it to pieces. It's my favourite thing in the world. For what I use it for (playing music, watching DVDs, editing the occasional photo, storing and searching huge numbers of text files, spending hours and hours on the internet and messengers) it's brilliant, way better than any PC I've used and no viruses so far.

And it's pretty. Bostin.

I have had Macs for a long time. I've always used them for film editting. But to be honest, I still use a PC with Windows 2003 or slackware based linux for more day-to-day computer use.
