I used to play DVD's in my PC, and also burn cds. I stoped being able to burn CDs some months ago, and Im still using the same brand as always, and tried to used alternate ones too. Also, the DVD's don't even show up anywhere. I started having the DVD problem about year and a half ago when I got it back from Best Buy cause they fixed something, and my 2 year guarantee is over now. I don't now what happen to it, and help or tips?

One more thing, I also tried to install a PC game, but it sayed to lower the resoltuion, is there any relation between this and my other two problems?

Toss it and get a new DVD burner. You'll see higher speeds and have more success. You can probably get one for around 40 or 50 dollars.

the same thing happened to me and what you have to do is go to your control panel when you put your DVD or game in. then on the toolbar there is an option called folders and click it. then on the left side there will be a pull down menu and click on my computer then another will drop down and the name of the disc you put in should appear.

Check your BIOS settings of your DVD drive. I think it was configured as a generic CD drive only. Try using the auto detect. Save BIOS settings then restart.
