The field of electronics comprises the study and use of systems that operate by controlling the flow of electrons (or other charge carriers) in devices such as thermionic valves (vacuum tubes) and semiconductors. The design and construction of electronic circuits to solve practical problems is an integral technique in the field of electronics engineering and is equally important in hardware design for computer engineering. All applications of electronics involve the transmission of either information or power. Most deal only with information.
The Electronic Devices division performs research on integrated circuits. Our major goal is the maximum exploitation of today's and future advanced technologies, particularly CMOS.

In electronic devices, the functioning of the device is based on gating or regulating the flow of electrons. Electronic devices generally operate at lower voltages and currents and they use semiconductor materials.

Electrical devices also work by regulating current. They usually handle high power and their working principle is a direct consequence of physical phenomenon.

However, it is quite difficlut to make a clear cut distinction between the two.
