I LIVE IN THE UK and have noticed some really good deals on laptops. I have a top budget of £400 and seem to be spoilt for choice. Any suggestions what make I should go for. Loads of suggestions please.

okay, i dont know if its the battery... its like.............

there is a chord coming from my laptop that connects to this thing, which connects to the wall... the think is BURNING HOT. this has never happend before sooooooo what do i do?? i unplugged it hoping it would help and my laptop is running on its battery.....

yup.....sooooooo help me out.

But when I put a disk in it makes all the sounds like its going to start playing, the light even blinks like normal, but it doesnt open up the program, so i put a dvd in and opened the program i use to play it, and it said DVD directory not found. So I tried a CD and opened iTunes it did not say there was a CD in the drive. So I opened Windows Media Player, and it said I didnt have a CD player. When I opened My computer It doesnt say i have any DVD/CD drive at all? How do I get my laptop to recognize my CD/DVD player? I have an Acer Aspire 3000. Running Windows XP with service pack 2.
I am very sure its not that the Drive is dirty, when you open my computer, the drive is not listed at all.

I have an HP dv6045nr laptop.

It's a pretty beastly machine as far as laptops go, but for some reason, when I play guildwars, use windows mediaplayer, and browse the net, I tend to get a blue screen of death reading "NV4_disp".

Anybody know whats up with this?

after it starts, the screen just go black and only the arrow shows up and when i move my mouse the arrow moves perfectly. and when i turn it off, the shut down screen comes on too just like the start up screen comes on when i turn it back on, but then everything turns black...

i have a 2001 toshiba laptop which has already burned out 2 power adaptors. on my 3rd one and when i get on it, i noticed it keeps switching from battery power to charging back to battery power etc . and i have to reach behind the laptop and mess around with where the cod plugs in till i get back to "charging" again some times it stays "charging" then if i bump the laptop or somethen, it goes back to battery.and sometimes i wont ee that it switched to battery and it goes dead after awhile. i dont think it could be the battery, because obviouslt if it says charging and the percentage goes up, then it can hold a charge. i think it might have a short in it or somthen, what do yall think ?

I am not sure if it would be worth it to replace the 2x512 ram with 2x1Gb in my macbook. Is it going to make a big difference? I am a beginner in using final cut pro, however, i don't use it professional, just some simple editing. Is it worth it and how much difference is it going to make?
