I've bought this laptop:

It says 80GB on the box and on the listing as above but when I check the computer properties I see 66.7GB Total Space.
Is there anyone that explain whyI don't have 80GB.

The brightness on the screen of a laptop keeps going down. It suddenly just goes down to 0%. Every time it increased manually, it just goes back to 0%. How can this be fixed?

My laptop has been off for 5 days now. I tried holding the pwer button down for 7+ seconds, I tried taking the battery out and putting it back, I tried to turn it on without the battery, none of these have worked. This happened before, but one of those options worked, and it's never been this long. Some have said it over heated, something's wrong with the hard drive, and possibly the fan. I took it to Best Buy to get it fixed the last time it did this, but all they ended up doing was erasing everything from my computer, and the problem still consisted. What else could be the problem? And how can I possibly fix it? I really need my laptop for school.

Hi everyone:
My computer is a Toshiba Laptop Satellite A70-75 series. It cames with a CD wish says "Recovery and applications / Drivers DVD".

My question is: Can I use that CD in order to restore my laptop's OS as the first day I bought it?

I was just doing some work on my company laptop, and knocked it off the chair! It didn't fall to the floor - I caught it - but it knocked and then I couldn't get past a blank screen. I have took out the battery pack and rebooted it.

All of my icons, emails, documents etc are now gone! How can I get them back?

By the way, its a Dell Inspiron 2500.

ok my brother came home from college for a while and he always used my computer now that he left i found out he was a porn freak. he got into all these xxx sites and now my computer has spyware and adware it even got to the point where it wont let me choose my own desktop background nd some programs dont work i dont know how to get rid of the spyware and adware. someone please help me because im desperate.

Hi all you comp boffins out there. We have a problem with my other halfs laptop...basically the ethernet won't work on his laptop, but its fine on mine. We have the top grade package with wireless & he has tried my lappy through all 4 ports & the modem is fine. We have an idea it maybe something happened to his laptop, although its not been dropped or anything done to damage it. Any idea's ?

I have to use a propritary wireless card (SBC DSL encripted card) in the cardslot, so that devise that gives you a 2.0 usb port that plugs into the card slot won't work unless I can find a way to hook up 2 cards into the one slot. Can my current usb ports be converted using only software, or do I need to install new hardware as well?
