Charge the battery to 100% and allow it to drain to 0% and charge it again. This process is known as battery calibration and will give your battery better life overall.
When you get your laptop it will have a 20-60% complimentary charge. You can use the laptop, but I would recommend to resist the urge and make sure you are plugged into the mains and charging before you do turn on.
Hope this helps.

You can use it straight away, unless the vendor specifically said otherwise. Also, no need to try and charge to 100% straight away. No laptop battery will charge 100% anyway. And you can unplug it on a partial charge, it will still work. If it fails, the battery is BAD. And sometimes Batteries are supplied with a full charge anyway. Unless the battery software gives warnings about use before a full charge there is no problem using it straight away.

What you could do is put it on charge but dont disconnect to use and leave it charging over night, it will be fine they do say that the first charge determines a batterys life and how long it will last before its drained but i think it all false to be safe use it while its on charge it continues to charge cause it pulls more power from the mains than you would be using

You can use it straight away if you are connected to a mains power point. ( Make sure you use the charger that comes with the laptop). However, if you wish to use it as a portable gadget, then charge the battery in advance - probably overnight. I find that with our laptop a fully charged battery gives approximately
two hours use. Hope this helps.

if its a brand new laptop then there will be instructions inside the box that state how long it should be charged for. If there are no instructions,
1. complain
2. charge it for 10 hours ( to be on the safe side)
if it is second hand then it will already be charged so you don't need to worry x.

It will be better for the battery if you charge it fully before using it on battery power for the first time. But you can use it on the mains while it's charging.

That depends on the type of battery you have. If it is a nicad, charge it up first or you will not get the performance you should.
If it is lithium ion, you can use it right away as long as you have it plugged in to AC power so it can charge shile you use it.

You can use it right away as long as you keep it plugged in, when it is running on mains it also charges the battery, if you look at control pannel it will show you how charged your battery is in a % as well as how long it will last in time

Use the computer on wall power. It will charge while it is being used. The battery does not power the computer when the power is plugged in. Do not use on battery power alone until you fully charge it.
