I've bought this laptop:

It says 80GB on the box and on the listing as above but when I check the computer properties I see 66.7GB Total Space.
Is there anyone that explain whyI don't have 80GB.

I don't go to links on here because of obvious reasons, who knows what booby traps are waiting but:

Most (all) companies advertise as though the Gb = 1,000,000,000 bytes but in actuality, in memory it is = 1,073,741,824 bytes.

This means that a HD with an advertised capacity of 80Gb in actuality has 72.8Gb. I'm guessing the rest is used in the OS and programs that are loaded.

This is a common screw for the common man/woman.

i think the hard drive is partitioned to give an extra partition to keep a backup copy of the operating system in, that takes away from the size of the partition that your pc is running on now. this is quite normal nowadays
