You are really asking could you use a PCMCIA wireless NIC card with your desktop computer directly. Then answer is NO. Unless you get a PCMICA adaptor. In that case it woulnd't be worth It!!!!!!

You can use wireless with your desktop if you add a wireless card (they come both internal and USB) to the desktop.

However, if you are close enough to the router, you can just run a network cable from the desktop to the wireless router, plug it in to one of the ports, and use it that way. Wireless routers are just regular, use a cable with it, routers that ALSO broadcast a wireless signal. So you can use them either way.

Ignore the other answer about 'PCMCIA', dude is a moron.

You can get wireless network adaptors that plug into your USB port and allow you to have the same wireless ability as a laptop (with the exception of all those cords keeping you from dragging your desktop around the house with you).

The best bet though, is to put your wireless router near your desktop machine--most of them have the ability to plug at least one computer directly into them.

definite you would possibly want to attempt this. often once you look at a instant router, on the decrease back there are some RJ-40 5 lady connectors, alongside with one which shall we internet in. you could hook different computers as a lot because the router and nonetheless have a instant computer connect to it. yet with the exception of a operating laptop or computer being hooked as a lot because it, there's a huge type of issues that could want to connect. alongside with a psportable (PSP), or a cellular telephone with WiFi applications. surely something with WiFi applications.
