My laptop is a Dell, I know that it has USB ports but unfortunately I'm not certain of what else. It's pretty 'standard' and is about 1.5 years old. to help get an idea of it. The TV I'm looking to hook it up to is as follows:

I appreciate the help and/or suggestions!

If your Video Card a TV out, it should cable straight through.
If you want to want to cable direct to TV using your Video out ( same as your Monitor), then see if it has a Analogue or DVI input that looks like your Cable size. If not, just a small junction box should connect the PC up, and the type of Junction box will vary, from basic to simple, and sometimes a connection to the HDMI will facilitate this. Direct cabling may require a splitter if you want to keep your Monitor for your PC live. It may even allow a Dual Monitor Function ( with the TV as a second Monitor)... you will definitely need the splitter in whatever case. The exact type of split depends on what your Monitor and Video card has ( DVI or Analogue), and if you need a Junction box to connect

On that TV looks like there really isn't much of a way to plug your laptop into it. Typically on an HDTV you'd have DVI inputs (that TV does not) or a PC input (that TV does not). So you're pretty much left with the hope that your laptop has an s-video 'out' port which you can plug into one of the three s-video ports on the back of the television. A link to your laptop model would have been helpful as well. Pretty much whichever way you do it, the image on the TV is going to look like dung.

till you’re onto some new technologies that we haven’t heard about, connecting a operating laptop or computer to a television is going to be carried out utilising a cable. you may have the capacity to hit upon any of those at a close by electronics or laptop keep, or maybe your community Wal Mart.

Why do you want to connect to your tv?

You need to have the proper cables to do this, one end connects to your laptop the other is audio/video output (red, white & yellow ended). If you go to Radioshack.com you can find out more information about what cables would be best for this. However, you pose a chance of killing your laptop.
