I dropped the metal tip of my battery charger in the dogs water dish while the other end was plugged in... Is it still safe to use after it dries?

My laptop is 5 years old. Its time to let it rest peacefully. I want to buy a new one for game, multimedia, and surfing online. I prefer 15~17" screen, cpu(>=T5600), individual video card, 2GB ram, >=100GB hard drive. In this case, what choice do I have? how much? Thanks.

I bought a new laptop from hp yesterday it is a dv6000 I don't know too much about laptops. Except this one has "vista?" Anyhow it is supposed to have wireless internet. I went to starbucks to ty it out first and it wouldn't connect. Am I doing something wrong? This still new to me... Please help! Thanks!

I bought my sony laptop a few months ago, today it says the trial version of word has ended and I need to put in the Key for the full version...but I don't know if I have it bc I'm at school right now and my stuff is away at home. has started having probs with reading the music from cd, as i noticed today. it looks like the reader does not have a continuous reading and plays a while then cuts for a few secs and reads in rough noises not in sleek smooth motion like before. what is the prob here? what should i do? i need to use my laptop daily :(

Why does somebody want a 14.1" when he can have a 15.4" or a 17" screen? Especially if he is not taking it anywhere ?

Isnt the screen on a 14.1" way to strenous on the eyes?

Where do they go with them? What do they do with them when they get there?

I see people carrying them around in their bags to school and office.
I dont understand , if you are in a classroom, should you not be
listening to the teacher instead of typing on a computer?
IF you are in your office, should you not have one there ?

Just curious, anybody can tell me what is the reason to carry them everywhere?

Would going from XP to Vista be considered upgrading and would I be able to get the much lower upgrade price?

do ethnic professors feel this sense of entitlement more than caucasian professors. just wondering, I've worked with some and for the most part, the caucasians act more at ease whereas the ethnic ones act like I HAVE to call them Dr or professor.

We currently have a Dell that was given to us by a very nice organization. The problem is I have 4 teens and a pre-teen, so computer time is way limited. I was browsing on ShopNBC and saw a Laptop from Acer, complete with a Printer, a 17-in LCD monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse, a wirless router...for only 1100. Needless to say, I am skeptical. Is this a good purchase? I am on a serious budget, but a laptop would help me stay on top of my work at home. Please help.

My 2 yr old son just spilled my glass of water on my computer. My laptop was closed when it happened so it didnt get real wet. But now when i plug in the power pack to my laptop it makes a greggling sound? My computer still works fine - do u think water got into the hole you plug the power pack in at? What should i do? Will it be ok? Should i just not plug it in ? Please help my hubby's gonna kick my booty. Thanks

Just bought a new laptop. It's still in the box - switched it on - the battery already has 32% life on it. Do I let the battery life it currently has - run down fully and then start the charging process?

What is the recommended number of hours to initially charge the battery for, avoiding having problems later on with it running low during short intervals and ensuring continuous peak performance of the battery life in the future.

IT guys - please help!

PS: There's alot of pounds involved so I don't wanna mess this up!
