Do you mean a computer you bought at a department store or a computer used in the department store?
If its the fomer then add more memory and a graphics card, if its the latter then ask the IT guy at work.

Do NOT do this yourself; Get the Admin for your Area, and Talk with them about what you want to Upgrade

Before you buy VISTA read the articles at:

Linux operating systems are excellent. Try out one of the free distributions. My favorite is UBUNTU. You can download it, or order a CD, at
http://www.ubuntu.com .
You will also get all the software, that you will ever need, FREE - See

Contact dept. store IT department.
Request upgrade.
Let them do it.
If you are the IT dept.
- Check what it has now, and what can be added. (memory, extra harddrive etc)
- Install it carefully and you are in business again.
