Do you mean a computer you bought at a department store or a computer used in the department store?
If its the fomer then add more memory and a graphics card, if its the latter then ask the IT guy at work.

Do NOT do this yourself; Get the Admin for your Area, and Talk with them about what you want to Upgrade

Contact dept. store IT department.
Request upgrade.
Let them do it.

If you are the IT dept.
- Check what it has now, and what can be added. (memory, extra harddrive etc)
- Install it carefully and you are in business again.
