Laptops & Notebooks - January 2007

And the old keyboard does NOT have a USB port and cannot connect anywhere on the laptop. I've looked for adapters that can do this and they do exist, but I'm not sure what works.

Any ideas?

I think I may have to carry in the keyboard to a place to have it fitted properly.

I need a good video card and i need help to find a good one , can you post links , or telling me which one to get thats best for my computer , my computer is a Dell DIMENSION DIM2400 Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz , 256 MB of RAM and I'd also like to know how much a RAM upgrade and the video card that would go good with my computer would be.

I used to have this nice small program, let's say I have a file I wanna send to you, this program make me select the file and turn it's location into a URL link, then I can send this URL link to u (over a messenger or something, even an email) when u click on this link u will start downloading the file from me, like u r downloading a normal file from a typical link. cool Huh? too bad I can't remeber that program. I lost it :(( any ideas?

Hello there
I seem to be having some troubles with my laptop.The other day i went to pick the thing up and it was very hot to the touch.I shut it off and it cooled down.I went to turn it back on and everytime it just comes up black(the screen).I can see icons on the desktop if i take a flashlight and shine it on the screen.
So what do i do next?

I had left the screen saver on for about 9 hours. When I came home there was a visible verticle burn mark on my screen. That shouldn't happen so I called them.

At first they told me it wasn't under warranty, (which it was, I had only had it for a month). Now I can't get anyone to call me back. I have left several voice mails for my case managers. They are giving me the run-around. So what should I do?

I just want my computer back!!!

I've had this issue for some time, and I wanted to know the reason. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it is a short, high pitched sound. It's happened to me when trying to record from iMovie, and the volume is set to 2 levels, so I don't know what could be happening. Any suggestions?

i have a laptop but it crashed something like that.
my dad took it and was gonna insert the cd that comes along w/ it to delete everything and stuff but we can't find the cd. so if you know what im talking about, do they sell it?
its the cd you have to put it when you first buy the laptop.

A few months ago the up arrow key on my keyboard fell off because i was trying to get something from under it, and now my brother was on the computer and says the F key just fell off when he was typing! I own a Latitude D520 laptop and obviously the keys are very easily taken off. Is there any store or anything that sells extra keys or fixes the keyboard? I live in Miami. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am using Windows XP. I know that I can adjust it from power options so that it turns off after some minutes of no activity. But I want to know the way to disable and enable it immediately whenever I want. I had an fn+F key shortcut at my previous laptop, however no fn+F combination works for this one.

I am 19 years old, I am a business and administration college student, and look forward to keeping/using this laptop for at least 3 years. I would say I would use it for AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, E-mail, YouTube, MySpace, Microsoft Office, Skype, Limewire, google earth, Ifran, windows media player, and internet browsing. I would also be studying abroad, so something that is capeable of meeting these needs.I want to make a good quality purchase. More than anything I want it to meet my needs.
