I've had this issue for some time, and I wanted to know the reason. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it is a short, high pitched sound. It's happened to me when trying to record from iMovie, and the volume is set to 2 levels, so I don't know what could be happening. Any suggestions?

Hello psycho_specter,

It sounds like you are getting feed-back. Go into your System Preferences settings. Under the Hardware heading, click on the Sound icon.

Under the Input tab, you can adjust the Input volume slider. Also, under the Output tab, you can adjust the Output Volume slider too. Since your MacBook has the speaker and microphone in the same place, it's easy to have that problem.

Another thing that you can do is plug in some ear buds or headphones into your Mac, and then the sound won't effect the mic. Best of luck to you.
