Hello there
I seem to be having some troubles with my laptop.The other day i went to pick the thing up and it was very hot to the touch.I shut it off and it cooled down.I went to turn it back on and everytime it just comes up black(the screen).I can see icons on the desktop if i take a flashlight and shine it on the screen.
So what do i do next?

how do i adjust the brightness? This is a gateway laptop and i dont see the botton's anywhere? thanks again

Buy a new laptop or find an old one just like it and get the screen off of it.

For starters, You must recalibrate the battery by going to the BIOS, Press F2, then fiddle through the BIOS page and find Battery Recalibration.
If your laptop has a brightness adjusting button, try to add more brightness.

no one knows more about their products than gateway does. they have tons of help on their support site. you are paying them for help when you buy their computer. so why come here and ask us about it?
we don't mind helping you but you will most certainly get better info on gateway's site. atleast try that first.
