Where do they go with them? What do they do with them when they get there?

I see people carrying them around in their bags to school and office.
I dont understand , if you are in a classroom, should you not be
listening to the teacher instead of typing on a computer?
IF you are in your office, should you not have one there ?

Just curious, anybody can tell me what is the reason to carry them everywhere?

Laptops are actually very valuable. Here are your answers:

Use them in a classroom to take notes and organize them easier.
Office, use them to carry your computer work home with you, like typing up a paper.

Not to mention Wifi internet is now a big thing, so you can use internet where ever there is a connection and a router.

im a student and i bring my laptop to school almost everyday.

'cause im an IT(information technology) student.

so what if the school has labs? i've got projects to be completed. it would be such a hassle to go back to the same lab to get my work done. and what if some other classes decided to be funny and delete away my projects?
thumbdrives storage are too small for me, there's this module where i'll have to complete my projects using VPC, which means, i need at least 5GB. harddrives might be a good idea, but.. i dont like fighting with my sis over the desktop when im home or catching my sis browsing my files(e.g. msn history) on a shared computer.

and.. i love choose a different place to do my work everytime! =x

If you're in your office, you will have one there, but if you want to work from home, or on the move (on the train, etc.), you'd need a portable laptop connected to your office computer, so you could transfer your work to it when you get "back to base".

In College many Proffessors require you to turn in your Term papers by E-Mail, so you would need a computer.

they are also used to take notes during class, and get information using the internet.

and they are more portable than a Desktop Computer.

as for using them at work, most people don't have a laptop and a PC at their work, so they just plug in their Laptop once they arrive at their workplace.
If they do have both, it may be because they work from home, or travel alot for their buisness.

I tried posing in public places with a desktop on my lap but few people (apart from an alcoholic dwarf named Gerald) were impressed. Now I have an ultraportable sub-notebook and though the screen is minute and the battery lasts about 33 minutes, I do look rather cool...
