I bought a new laptop from hp yesterday it is a dv6000 I don't know too much about laptops. Except this one has "vista?" Anyhow it is supposed to have wireless internet. I went to starbucks to ty it out first and it wouldn't connect. Am I doing something wrong? This still new to me... Please help! Thanks!

It should show you the available networks and all you have to do is press connect. And it should work perfectly if the network is not using any security.

Vista = Windows Vista, the newest version of Microsoft Windows. That's the opearting system.

Can't get on the internet? Well, I haven't used Starbucks internet before, you may have to pay for it. You definitely have to log on some way or another. I would try somewhere where it is definitely free, like Panera Bread.

There may be a "WiFi" switch on your laptop that has to be switched to "on" in order to log on.

i think you may not have it set up quite right i would recomend you ring up microsoft and just ask them what to do. they are normaly prity good. i would normaly answer but there are so many things that could be causing it your best asking them. it would take years to list all of the potential problems.
