i have a functional 3800...im thinking about buying a 4100 and swapping everything out b/c of the 4100s design and size difference. will the motherboard, harddrive and components work if i swap them into a 4100?

If you do something like that keep this in mind you willl have to use another dell system..Dell products are not compatable with other computers...That is the down side of Dell..

So, you just want the case?

You may as well just go to a local computer store and buy a new computer case if that's all you want. The only thing you have to worry about is the 'form factor' of the motherboard. As long as that fits, everything else will be fine if you are keeping it all together.

The mother board is the main part of the computer regardless if its a laptop computer or notebook. If the mother board is not functional your machine is busted. If you will be dealing with a computer consultant ask them
