I remember having the Windows key, but not sure if I have the microsoft key?? Sony should have provided me w/ the Microsoft key for the full version right?? Just making sure

most of that software comes as a free trial in the hopes you'll buy it. If you paid for an oem license from the start it would have been loaded as a full version.

Do you have the whole office 2003 suite? (excel, access, ect.)
If you do, you might be able to just use the regular cd key everyone else uses:
GWH28-DGCMP-P6RC4-6J4MT-3HFDY

If you got an early edition of 2007 you'll have to track down a serial for that (I downloaded the enterprise edition so that's the only serial I have for that)

If you run into probs getting a serial to work then uninstall the whole package, download the disc image or borrow a copy from someone, and then use the regular serial...the one above works for for most 03 editions. You'll need to go a step further and hack the authentication check if you want to get any updates from the microsoft site but it's a fairly straightforward task as well.

It sounds like you didn't purchase the full version of MS Office. More than likely it would have been installed when you got the computer (I've never owned a Sony so I can't vouch for how they do business). I'd have a family member or friend look at your documentation and CD/DVDs to see if you have an MS Office one in there. The key would/should be on the cover for the CD/DVD. I'd recommend having your CD/DVDs and documentation with you, even at school. You never know when you'll need them and if you ever need to have the computer serviced the people working on it might need them. :) Goodluck!

Perhaps, not certain... but if you flip your laptop over copy down your model number and serial numbers, and service tags or whatever you can go to the sony website and it should have a description of what you bought there. If you had purchased a full version it would have been setup as such.. I think you have a trial version.

check with what ur laptop came with if it just said a trial its only a trial, if it said u would receive it in full, try finding the key or using the windows key, or call microsoft and say the key @ u put n doesn't work, thats what i did once, and they gave me a number for free.

No. You likely don't have a key for it. Microsoft includes copies of office demos in many laptops to try to convince you to buy it.

If you need an office suite, they sell the Student/Teacher version for $150.

Or you can try the free OpenOffice at http://www.openoffice.org

No, you have to get the full version. That was a trial version.

No, usually you have to buy Microsoft Word yourself.

Consider Microsoft 2007- its very, very different, but I love it. It makes things so much easier and quicker.
